I have to give a shoutout to our waitress—she was absolutely amazing on Saturday night (9/6/25)! A few friends joined me for dinner, and they had been raving about the food, so I was really looking forward to it.
Unfortunately, the experience fell a bit short. The food took quite a while to arrive. I ordered the half East Coast, half West Coast oysters, and they were gritty with bits of shell still in them. The lobster bisque was overly salty, and the portion of poached lobster—priced at $40—felt underwhelming for the cost. We also tried the chef’s special Pan Roast, but sadly, that too was quite salty.
Despite the food, our server truly went above and beyond and made the evening much more enjoyable. Her service was the highlight of the night!

This was my first time dining at Salt & Fin, which is inside of Harrah’s Resort SoCal.

I like the decor throughout the restaurant. Sandi and Bjonnie had wonderful customer service!! Very attentive. Very friendly.

What we ordered:
Fried Calamari
Cherry Peppers, Lemon, Pickled Cucumber Ranch $17
Very crispy. Loved that it also had the tentacles. That Ranch sauce was so good!! We asked for more. Lemon flavor throughout.

Pan-Seared Halibut
Alaskan Halibut, Jasmine Rice, Baby Bok Choy, Thai Basil & Mango Salsa. $42
Halibut was cooked perfectly. Firm but flaky texture. The salsa is fantastic! The Baby Bok Choy had a bitter taste, so my friend couldn’t eat it. Wonderful presentation!

Grilled Spanish Octopus
Japanese Chimichurri, Roasted Fingerling potatoes, grilled lemon $30
I was expecting more of a tender-yet-chewy texture but it was a little more tender than I would have liked. I love octopus and I like it to be a little firm. The Spanish Octopus is fattier and sweeter so I would have liked to taste a little more sweetness. It seemed like there was a little too much of a vinegar taste. I also would have liked a little spice. The Fingerling potatoes could have used a tad more salt. Wonderful presentation though.

Banana Crème Brûlée
Banana Custard, Caramelized sugar and fresh Berries $11

The Banana Custard was very creamy. The crunchy top could have been crunchier. It would have been an even better presentation if they blowtorched it at the table. But, I like that kind of thing lol My friend would have liked a regular custard instead of Banana custard.

They have no restrooms in the restaurant so you’ll have to find one in Harrah’s.

First time dining at this restaurant. Newly opened inside of Harrah’s Southern California casino. Former Fiore restaurant. Inside the restaurant still has the same decor as previous establishment unfortunately. Only the signage outside has changed.
The service provided by our waiter Antonio was the only reason why I wouldn’t give this restaurant 2 stars. I really wanted to like the vibe and quality of the restaurant but it was very lack luster. It didn’t have the atmosphere of a new restaurant and the food quality was nothing spectacular. For a bill of $300 including tip for two, my expectation was on the higher side. I wasn’t expecting Vegas but I was at least expecting a San Diego experience. The decor inside and lighting was outdated.
The food quality was very average. The oysters on the seafood tower was the only item that was fresh and stood out. The shrimp, crab and lobster were not fresh. Even though they were poached, the freshness was gone already as if they had been sitting in fridge one too many days. The entrees were average as well. Not much taste.
If planning to visit, hold your expectations. Sometimes you read a review and want to give it a chance but for now maybe save your money until this restaurant makes some changes.
Thank you Antonio for truly providing great customer service and taking pride in the work you do.

Ordered the 1/2 pounds of snow crab. This is miniature crab at best. Literally, the amount of meat fit on a spoon. Shared the feedback with the manager and was told they weight it and it is 1/2 pound. I would be embarrassed to serve this as a “meal”. Will not be back and suggest anyone else looking for a meal try one of the other places.

Wow wow wow! So very disappointing. The worst birthday dinner ever! I spent a few days with friends at Harrahs So Cal for my birthday. I have eaten at Hells Kitchen a couple of times so we made a reservation at Salt & Fin. That was our first mistake. It turned out to be the worst birthday dinner ever and the worst dining experience I ve ever had in my life. In case you do not read the entire review I sent back everything that I ordered. We started out with drinks and, a crab and spinach dip (or something like that)! I wouldnt even try it based on appearance alone. I will keep my description of the dish to myself. My friends were much braver than I. That said, they each took a small serving that they did not eat. Eventually the plate was cleared from the table. Since I was not having any appetizer I ordered a bowl of Lobster Bisque. Anybody that knows lobster bisque knows it will be a shade of orange when served. I have tried lobster bisque in many cities across this country. Good bisque is always orange – different shades at different places BUT always orange. The bisque was served. I was shocked to say the least. This bisque was literally a shade of brown. I dont know how to describe the taste but it was not good lobster bisque. My bff tried it. She did not care for it either. I told our server that I didnt care for it. She asked If I wanted to try the clam chowder instead. I said sure
To the best of my knowledge clam chowder is either red or white. The chowder was served and once again I received a soup brown in color. I tried the chowder. It tasted like pot roast stew. I didnt know what was happening but so far I was striking out BIG! SERVER brought us a round of drinks – Raspberry Martini was delicious. Ok we were back on track. We ordered dinner. My bff ordered and received Lobstet Arancini. Basically it was a hush puppy with no flavor. It was supposed to be filled with Risotto and lobster. It was not good. My other friend ordered a crab cake. I have never seen a crab cake like this one. She ate less than half of the crab cake and her Cesar salad. The Ceasar dressing is the wss same one served at the cafe. I do not order salads at Harrahs So Cal any longer. They do not have good recipes for their dressings. I was definitely hungry since we struck out on everything else so far. I ordered the halibut. I asked for it to be slightly undercooked. I didnt want the Filet as rare as salmon but I didnt want it overcooked either. In the end a dried out piece of halibut wss served to me. The edges of the halibut were actually crispy. At this point the server was actually apologizing too much. She apologized so much that we started to feel uncomfortable. There was nothing about the meal that I liked. All of the food delivered to the table was bad in my opinion. My bff ordered an oyster shooter. It was a very small oyster in a shot glass with ponzu sauce. There was so much ponzu sauce that she used a fork to get the oyster and eat it.
This was not a good dining experience. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. HARRAHS YOU SHOULD FIND A NEW CHEF TO CREATE A NEW MENU – ONE THAT SERVES GOOD FOOD. Very bad dining experience. Do not even try it. While the manager apologized and my items were removed from the check, the manager should have picked up the entire bill (excluding alcohol). There were many other disappointments throughout the meal but I didnt want to go overboard with the review. People might not have believed me. I promise you. Do not try Salt and Fin. One last comment….in the elevator back to our room, we were talking about dinner. There was another guest in the elevator with us. She said she will never eat there again. She dined there on a previous occasion and was very disappointed. Sorry no pictures!

This was a nice quiet place. We enjoyed our food. We had the halibut and it was good we forgot a picture. The lobster bisque was tasty. The clam appetizer was nice. The basket of crackers were a great start.

Jane was our server, her service was good. She received our feedback and seemed confused about why it was so bad, so to explain, we came in to Harrah’s to stay because our area is in a power outage. We arrived late because we work, Hells Kitchen was closed or we’d have just eaten there. So by the time we ordered, there weren’t really any other options for a meal after a long day. Yes, we ate the food because we came hungry and felt we didn’t have much of an option.

We ordered the scallop appetizer. It was 5 skinny pieces of very overcooked scallops.

We ordered the branzino, something we love, and the fish was dry and very overcooked. Even the rice side portion was extremely overcooked, visibly actually, so I don’t know how anyone would serve this especially at that price.

The sushi was ok, although I ordered the beet salmon and am sure it wasn’t delivered since none of the salmon looked or tasted different.

The drinks were as expected at least.

We had a $300 bill for 3 people, which we wouldn’t be offended by if the food were good, but it was subpar.

We will just make sure to dine at Harrah’s when Hell’s Kitchen is open from now on. Very disappointing, but we should have checked reviews first. Do not recommend.

I actually only took one photo, of the scallops. Definitely not worth the price at all.

An unexpected amazing place!!! Sandi, our service was so personable and absolutely wonderful. I’m so glad we got the chance to stop here. Between the fresh seafood, lobster bisque, dessert, and drinks, everything was fantastic. It was the perfect anniversary date night spot and I hope I get the chance to go back again.
