Owner is really nice, explaining details. Pasta was creamy and well balanced spicy level. Goat meat (stew) with wheat was also very good, came with a spicy pickle which was really good mix with goat stew. Overall, definitely a good restaurant to try once!

My friends and I decided to try the new Lakay Caribbean Restaurant in Delphi this evening. Let me tell you, this place is a gem in the making. The owners do all the cooking and running of the dining room.
The husband, Pierre, cleared up our questions about some of the menu items very well. He’s a very pleasant and friendly young man. The food was amazing. VERY flavorful which is one thing that I admire most about any cuisine.
If you’re looking to try something new and different or if you’re a fan of Haitian cuisine, be sure to check out the Lakay Crew. They’ll be happy to see you and your taste buds will definitely be happy you gave them a taste treat! 🙂

Traditional Haitian fare. I’ll be reminiscing about my meal here for the next week! The last time I had a Caribbean meal this good, I was IN the Caribbean.
The food is made fresh, right after you order. So there is a little bit of a wait but it’s well worth it!
If I could give them ten stars, I would!
Family owned and operated. The service was warm and humble.
We’re definitely going to come back!

We had a fantastic dinner at Lakay and are so happy to have this cuisine in our little town! We ordered the Island Pasta (shrimp and chicken) and the Fritay Platter with goat, and everything was excellent.

The plantains were delicious, and the Akra on the fritay platter was new to us — crispy, flavorful, and a great introduction. The goat was tender and well seasoned, and the pasta was rich, fresh, and perfectly balanced. I’m usually hesitant to order shrimp because many restaurants thaw it in chlorinated water (which shrimp absorbs), but that was absolutely not the case here — the shrimp were fresh and clean-tasting.

We also had the tropical mix and lemonade, both beautiful and refreshing. The food smelled amazing, was beautifully presented, and the spice level was dialed in perfectly.

The staff were extremely kind, patient, and pleasant, and you can really tell the chef knows her food — her care and pride absolutely show in every dish. Nothing disappointed us, and we’re already looking forward to going back. Note that the menu is evolving, so keep an eye out for new offerings!

Highly recommend — can’t say enough good things about Lakay.

Decided to drive 1.5 hours to get some Haitian food for Christmas Eve. From the instant we could smelled the aroma of the food, we knew it was worth every minute. The fried beef was tender yet crispy, filled with such flavor! My kids immediately asked when they can get more! We also loved the fried goat with black rice, griot with fried plantains, and of course the fried chicken with sauce! I am dreaming of the plantain bowls as I write this! Such delicious food and amazing service! Will be back soon!

The food was delicious. I ordered the beef tasso; which paired well with the side dishes. Our waiter was also very generous. He gave us some samples of dishes, and provided some complimentary turkey sauce; which was delightful. The drink I ordered, the tropical mix, was also great & refreshing. My only complaint would be that this great restaurant was empty, and it took a bit of time to get our food. Overall, my experience was great.
