Moving reviews here. I can look at the pictures and taste the food in my mind. Published 7/20/19:

This is a family run, multi-generational restaurant. Mom is from Afghanistan and Dad is from Iran. Kids were born here. They know their culture’s food and are proud to make it for the public.

I stopped in on my way to a Yelp Elite event and had a late lunch. I wasn’t really interested in a large meal and certainly didn’t want a dinner portion. Fortunately, they offered to accommodate me with a half-order of anything that could be made in that portion. I asked for the koobideh.

While I was waiting, the owner’s son’s fiancée turned up with a small plate of hummus that she said she made herself. It was an artistic little snack while I was waiting, offered so I could try their hummus. Delicious! She had blended it smooth and packed it with a delightful sesame flavor from a heavy-handed approach to the tahini. The bread they served with it is more like what you find in Afghan restaurants as opposed to pita but it matched perfectly.

The lunch plate they made for me included a single skewer and a single tomato but a plentiful portion of rice. I tasted the fire they cooked the skewer and the tomato over in every bite. The meat was tender, juicy and perfectly cooked. The flavor profile was definitively middle-eastern and the little bit of charring on the outside made it even more enjoyable. The tomato was slightly blistered but far from charred. Fork-tender and delicious, it paired nicely with the buttery rice.

Great place! Can’t wait to go back and experience more of their food.

I wish I could give ZERO stars. This was by far the worst Persian food I’ve had, not just in the U.S., but anywhere.

The food clearly seemed reheated. We could literally hear the microwave beeping from the kitchen. The portions were so small for the price, which was already very high. Definitely not worth what we paid.

I do want to say our waitress was kind and polite. Unfortunately, after we got our food, she left, and a man there (I believe he was the chef) was very discourteous, not just to us, but to other customers as well. It felt like there was no respect for customers at all.

If you’re looking for good Persian food and a welcoming atmosphere, I would highly and honestly suggest going somewhere else.

Had a wonderful lunch here. Never had Persian food. I ordered the Aash stew, lamb biryani, and chai. The stew was wonderful and refreshing. The lamb shank w biryani was fall of the bone. Such magical flavors in the lamb. The chai was such a great addition. Its fresh made not instant. Service was exceptional by the owner and he was so thankful to my compliments. For those whom do not know about Persia, it is a culture in Iran. Do yourself a favor and give the small business a try.

We came to this Persian restaurant hoping to explore the culture and try something new and it completely exceeded our expectations. We walked in not knowing exactly what to expect, but what we found was absolute comfort food at its finest. Every dish was rich with flavor and clearly made with care, from the traditional stews to the perfectly grilled meats and fragrant rice.

What made the experience even more special was the service. The owner and staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, taking the time to explain the menu, share the history behind the dishes, and offer amazing recommendations. You could truly feel their pride in the food and the culture.

If you’re looking for an authentic and heartwarming Persian dining experience, this place is a hidden gem. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit.

I’ll for sure be coming back! The food was so good, the service was amazing, and the whole vibe just felt really cozy and homely. Our waitress was super sweet and the chef definitely did his thing with the food. Such a nice spot to chill with family over some yummy food and a cup of chai. My partner, mother-in-law, and I had a great time. Highly recommend checking it out!

Taste of Persia is absolutely outstanding. The Middle Eastern dishes are incredibly fresh and full of flavor. The chicken was perfectly cooked, juicy, tender, and seasoned just right, and the rice was wonderfully aromatic and flavorful. The staff were kind, helpful, and genuinely welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. Everything tasted very fresh and prepared with care. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious, high‑quality food and kind service.

My partner and I used to live in the South Grand neighborhood and were frequent diners. Now we crave Mohammad and Sofiya’s culinary delights! I cannot recommend enough the food!!! GET THE LAMB SHANK with qabelli rice, THE ZERESHK POLO with chicken & barberry rice, and don’t forget the FELAFEL too!!

Family owned traditional Persian food in Tower Grove South. We were greeted by the owner, who also made it a point to tell us thank you when we left. We greatly enjoyed our meals of kabobs and rice. Two in our group are gluten free and they were able to accommodate our needs easily. Most of the food on the menu is GF. The food took awhile to come out but that is because all the meat was cooked to order and everything was hot when served. Our waitress was attentive and polite. We would certainly return!

The lamb was overcooked to the point that it was inedible, and I don’t say that lightly. The tikka masala sauce I ordered on the side was good, and the rice was acceptable. Amusingly, one could hear the beep of the microwave in the kitchen from the dining area; I’m actually not opposed to the use of a microwave in a kitchen, as most do it, but at least disable the beeping to give the illusion that everything is cooked fresh

I ate all the rice, but left the lamb as-is after eating the first couple pieces.
