May 2025: First time to visit Skippy’s Route 66 Restaurant. Clean, neat, and appeared family friendly.

We had the cheeseburgers and fries with appetizers of deep-fried zucchini and mushrooms. Try the homemade potato chips. They were crisp and had a great flavor.

The food was delicious. The prices are very reasonable.

We plan to stop by again when we are back in that neck of the woods.

20241007 Wow! Their fried chicken and fried liver are amazing. Light battered and crispy. The chicken was so juicy! One of my girls loved both the fried chicken and fried liver. The lady working there was so nice! Became my dogs were in the car, I asked if she would bring my food out to the car when it is ready, and she did! So sweet!

The sign says it all, good food for good people!

I had the pleasure of stopping here and having dinner. My meal was well prepared, the environment was very friendly, the wait and kitchen staff were very accommodating, and after my meal I had the pleasure of speaking with some local regulars in the place.

Overall, a great experience and I will be back!

Note: This is a restaurant with a bar and a pool table, but clean, country, goodness. I would have no problem bringing small children into the dining area. While I was there were families eating.

Skippy’s Route 66 Restaurant is a fantastic spot for anyone who loves flavorful fast food with a friendly, small-town charm. From the moment I arrived, the welcoming atmosphere made the experience enjoyable and stress-free. The restaurant is bright and clean, with a casual yet comfortable setting that immediately puts you at ease. Whether you’re stopping by during a road trip or visiting as a local, it feels like the kind of place where good food and good vibes come together naturally.

The highlight of my visit was definitely the chicken. Skippy’s chicken is exceptional—crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and perfectly seasoned. The seasoning is balanced and flavorful, offering just the right amount of spice and herbs without overwhelming the natural taste of the meat. Each bite was delicious, and it was clear that the kitchen takes real care in preparation and consistency.

One of the things I appreciated most was the quick service. Despite the popularity of the restaurant, I didn’t have to wait long at all for my order. The staff was efficient and friendly, moving quickly while still taking the time to be polite and attentive. It’s rare to find a place that combines speed with quality, but Skippy’s manages both effortlessly.

Everything about the meal—from the warm welcome to the perfectly cooked chicken—left a lasting impression. Skippy’s Route 66 Restaurant delivers exactly what you hope for in a fast-food stop: delicious, well-seasoned food served fast and fresh. I would happily return anytime and highly recommend it to anyone traveling along Route 66 or simply looking for a satisfying, no-fuss meal

We ordered the Deluxe pizza and toasted ravioli for carry out. The pizza toppings were good but the crust was mediocre. It’s a flat crust pizza. We usually like flat crust but this one left much to be desired. The toasted ravioli were good – cooked perfectly.

The service was fast and friendly both on the phone and during pickup. The food was ready when they said it would be.

The atmosphere was typical for a bar.

The prices were fair.

We were camping at Onondaga State park and it was a quick 10 ish minute drive. Convenient! We would return but will try different menu items.

Great experience! Clean/small town atmosphere with a super sweet staff. Pizza was great and the Philly was the best I’ve ever had! Fresh/burning hot with perfectly melty cheese and so flavorful! Homemade chips were awesome too. As you can see in the picture, my whole family was stealing off my plate Lol Would definitely go back if passing through the town again.

So we dropped into this little tavern oasis looking for some afternoon lunch.
You’ll be presently surprised to find that this tavern/restaurant there’s a very nice mom and pop shop.

I could see throwing down some nice beers here in the evening or a fair price lunch during the day. Either way this is small-town America on route 66 in Missouri.

These guys have been around for 20 years and it’s because they’re salt of the earth people good customer service.

Pretty good food. Not busy the night we came. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Juke box was not overbearing and had a great selection of music, but overpriced. The food was reasonably priced. It seemed family friendly, though it could get out of hand if certain crowds showed up.

Good food and good service. Very friendly. I had the 2 piece fried chicken platter and my husband had the Philly cheesesteak. Make sure to stop here if you need some lunch or dinner.
