There is a reason why places like this stay open this long. Yes, the food is delicious. But, there is a vibrancy and a pulse here that you cannot buy. When you are here, you are treated like family. You get great conversation and great service. Everyone that walks in is treated with care. And the food is just as good! This is the type of place you come for one thing but see everyone walking out with something that looks delicious so you buy that as well. No matter what you get you are not going to be disappointed.

Best service and atmosphere I experienced during my time in New York. The owner made me and my friends feel like family super welcoming and genuine. The food was fire! I had the ribs, black-eyed peas, rice, greens, and yams everything was seasoned perfectly and the portions were huge. To top it off, he surprised us with a slice of strawberry and banana cream cake. Highly recommend if you’re in the Bronx and want good vibes and even better food!

Great food, great people, great value. Mr. Dwayne Johnson (of the second Johnson BBQ generation) was extremely welcoming. We got the rib dinner and chicken dinner and it was delicious. Mustard sauce is a must. Pineapple coconut cake was exactly what we wanted. 10/10, no notes.

My First time and trust and believe it’s not going to be m last. Everything about the food. The attitude of the people making the food was a blessing I love good food.. Went here after the Yankee game and had great service. Food was still really hot when we got home and tasted amazing like a home cooked meal at Thanksgiving. They are also very generous with the portions. Would definitely recommend and come here again.

This place is amazing. There aren’t too many quality soulfood restaurants around, but Johnson BBQ is well worth the $$$. The portions are big enough to split. I can’t wait to get back & try other things on the menu. Also I really appreciated how the gentleman fixing plates catered to each individual person. That alone would make me come back
