The Lemon Drop Martini and Jalapeno Cherry Margaritas were wonderful. The Chilean Sea Bass special with scallops, shrimp, and mussels in a coconut broth was phenomenal. The Shrimp Scampi and Chicken Picatta were excellent. Our waitress was attentive and helpful.

One of the better restaurants in northern NV tucked away in Dayton’s downtown area.

This place is a great place to eat! The hostess made sure we were taken care of all night, making sure to box up each course before the next one arrived. The waiter was very attentive and helpful with all menu items and our drinks were never empty. Food was amazing, steaks perfectly cooked, large portions. 10/10 will be going again and telling everyone I know to dine here.

J’s is the place! It is a historic building that has been renovated and has great ambiance! The food was delicious! I had the drink of the week, Hisbiscus Mule, wonderful! I also had their weekly special pasta, Garlic Cream sauce with several meats, sooo good! The service was excellent too! Altogether a wonderful dining experience and we will be back!

Honestly, some of the BEST Italian with a twist food I’ve had anywhere, bar none can be found here at J’s Bistro! And I mean really, who would have thought that you could get food this amazingly delicious in a small town like Dayton? As far as with a ‘twist’ goes, I say this because they have things like chorizo in some of their dishes and out of this world, simply to die for, homemade potato chips with the most amazing dipping sauce to go with them! This is something I would HIGHLY recommend for an appetizer. As far as meals go, everything my wife and I have tried so far has been outstanding including their lasagna, chicken picata and pasta basilico. I’ve included pics of the later and you’ll have to forgive me for taking the shots after we started eating them as they looked and smelled so good, we just couldn’t resist taking a bite or two first. Of course, the atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely and the service is very very friendly. We also love that they have a full bar. I should note that they do tend to be busy on most nights and having reservations is helpful to have. I hope you give this place a try and enjoy it as much as we do.

Best restaurant in town–but that is not a closely held secret, so highly recommend a reservation! I’ve been to J’s a few times in the past, but went for the first time with my daughter (2 yo) to celebrate a birthday last night. I was a little nervous due to a recent bad experience at another Italian place (Reno) due to having a toddler at a nicer restaurant. But J’s really was amazing. Servers were accommodating and super sweet with my daughter, they had kid’s meal options, and we were treated with the same great level of service as everyone around us. We felt really well taken care of and welcomed and the food was delicious (as usual).

Tonight was our first visit, and it will not be our last! Our server, Chris, was so professional, knowledgeable, and personable we wanted for nothing! The food was absolutely delicious and fresh. Reservations are absolutely recommended and you will enjoy your visit. The only dink I can give is that the atmosphere was very loud.

Delicious food in a fabulous restaurant. The history on the 1930’s deco bar is very cool and it’s a beautiful piece of crafty. Everything we had is worth ordering again! Filet mignonette was cooked to perfection. The caprese salad was traditional and perfect. Great staff- very helpful and obliging. Looking forward to our next visit. No pic of the soup- we enjoyed it too quickly!

In the heart of Old Dayton, NV lies a place that stands alone with atmosphere, food preparation, a classy bar and just a great overall feel when you walk in. Starting with Italian eggrolls which id never had before (crispy and delicious) followed by the Chicken Piccata for the entrée along with a cream of mushroom soup with infused sausage that was very tasty. We washed it down with chili mango margaritas which all made for an excellent experience and we will be returning very soon. A must stop if passing through Dayton. We’ll done Js!
