This pizza is phenomenal!! After seeing Arcata’s in a tv special I decided to drive across the border and give them a try. In one day I went back two separate times to have the pizza because it was that good! The owner Bob was very friendly and while small inside made us feel welcomed the moment we stepped inside. There’s a clear window to see him actually make your pie and the art and love that goes into easy order shines bright. The ingredients are top notch. I was curious to see what the Windsor style pizza would hold up and it definitely has a taste of its own. The shredded pepperoni was great and had no grease and gave us no heartburn. We tried both a pepperoni and the second time around a “doc’s favorite”. The garlic sauce too only elevated the tastes and we will be making a stop here every time we visit Windsor.

Just happened to be in Windsor today for my son’s soccer game. After reading an CBC article about amazing Windsor pizza and on a recommendation from a very good friend, I dropped by Arcata pizzeria.
From this Italian, this is THE BEST pizza I’ve ever had. What can I say, homemade taste, quality and service multiplied by 1,000. When I walked in the front door and said this is my first time here, I was greeted like family. I asked what’s good, mind you anything on their menu is amazing, I was told the Super was the best selling pizza. It’s topped with mushrooms, green peppers, SHREDDED pepperoni, ham, and onions. Shredded pepperoni is where it’s at: instead oil in curved pepperoni when cooked…no oily pizza. The crust, thin and crispy. Of course the sauce is brilliant- not the fake stuff you usually get…homemade!! Put it all together makes this pizza perfection. And coming from an Italian, that means something. Lol.
Next time you’re in Windsor…stop by Arcata Pizzeria – you will not be disappointed.

I had seen a documentary on YouTube called “The Pizza City You’ve Never Heard Of” and Arcata Pizzeria was one of the restaurants featured. My wife and I just had occasion to visit Windsor for a few days. A colleague, who was from Windsor, told me that we should try some pizza in Windsor, and that if we could only try one, it should be Arcata.
How was the pizza? The crust was excellent. The cheese was excellent. The sauce was excellent. The toppings were excellent (including the canned mushrooms – it’s a thing ). There was nothing about this pizza that wasn’t excellent, including the personal and friendly service from the owner himself!
I would happily pass along the same advice that we received. If you’re going to be in Winsor, you should try the pizza. If you can only try one, it should be Arcata!

We came from Toronto to try this spot, and it was hands down the best pizza we’ve ever had. We got the Doc’s Favourite and it was delicious. The quality of the ingredients and the flavour were absolutely incredible.
It wasn’t only the best pizza we’ve had, but the best pizza experience. The owners were so kind and so great and they genuinely took care of us. People in Windsor are lucky to have a spot like this in the city. Will defintely visit when we’re in the city again.

We ordered 10 pizzas and a bunch of bread twists for a school event and it was honestly perfect. It was hot and fresh with the bread twists especially being praised. Everyone was also a big fan of their homemade garlic sauce which complemented the pizza perfectly. Overall, we loved the food and accommodation so we will definitely be ordering from here again.

If your ever in Detroit you gotta go to Windsor. If your ever in Windsor you gotta go to Arcata Pizzeria the home of the Windsor Pizza. What’s A Windsor pizza you ask, it’s a thin crust pie topped with crispy shredded pepperoni, canned mushroom and local cheese just to start. We had the privilege of meeting Rob, 3rd generation owner and local icon for a little Windsor education. These pies are so good people order them to be shipped around the world. While we were there an order had been place to be shipped to the USA. If you go to Windsor and don’t eat at Arcata you missed out on a uniquely delicious experience.

I had ordered a large order of 10 king sized pizzas, 4 super sized bread twists, and some arcata garlic sauce and dips for an event. When I let them know the order a few days before, they were very kind with the service and offered a discount! The food was ready on time for pickup, and was delicious too. It’s a great price for the quality and quantity, especially with how much each person was able to eat.

Love this place! Since moving out of town anytime we pass through Windsor we order pizza half cooked so we can have delicious pizza at home. You go home separate the pizza into freezer ziplock bags and pull them out whenever you want some delicious pizza and cook it up and it’s just like when you order it from the store. So great when you don’t live close to Arcata. The owner is so awesome and makes you feel like one of the family!!!
