So stoked to find somewhere that does gluten free ramen noodles, and the whole dish was delicious too!! We had the house Charsiu pork each, mine with a shoyu base and his with curry. Both were so tasty, and plenty condiments provided to spice, salt, soy the broth as you please. There were many other broth options that might suit celiac better but mine is intolerance and sauces don’t usually cause bad flare-ups so this was a perfect indulgence. Would definitely come back!

This is a classic, homey, Ramen house. O loved the spicy beef and gyozas. The Sunday waitress was hard working, friendly, and made a thoughtful suggestion that my boy loves (all shrimp for his crispy noodle seafood).

Authentic Japanese ramen!
Reasonable prices. Good flavor! Good portions! Nice little hole in the wall – has 6 tables total inside

I tried this place for the first time and ordered ox tail. I’m trying to be objective. I always watch video about Ramen shops in Japan and focus on the broth. The broth at rairai appears to be just dashi instead of a richly developed broth which takes hours resulting in a broth lacking in richness and flavor. The portions were decent and oxtails tender however it just lacks flavor. I would like to see them develop the broth.

Been all over the country looking for good ramen. Happen to be here on vacation. Stopped in and got
Tan Tan. Second best Tan Tan I’ve ever had. Only beat by Sansotei Ramen in Toronto. It was so good I had to take one to go. You guys should be proud of your food!!

Yummy food – had vegetable ramen and kimchi ramen with egg, great homemade condiments – try their crushed chilli sauce, very quick service and friendly owner!

This place feels more like a rundown fast-food joint — no restroom, not even a sink to wash your hands. The chicken curry rice was simply inedible: just a pile of plain rice topped with chicken drowned in a terrible sauce. I honestly don’t understand how this place has a 4.6-star rating. Definitely not coming back.

Incredible ramen and a comfortable dining experience! I ordered the Hakata Tonkotsu and was genuinely impressed—rich, flavorful broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and fresh toppings that brought everything together beautifully. Easily one of the best ramen bowls I’ve had in Honolulu.
What really stood out beyond the food was the atmosphere. Unlike many ramen spots in Waikiki that tend to be overly hot and stuffy, this place had a comfortable, well-ventilated space where I could actually enjoy my meal without breaking a sweat. That attention to customer comfort goes a long way.
Highly recommend for anyone looking for high-quality ramen and a relaxed dining environment!

Be warned you may just drive past this place because its a super small parking lot. The service was good and the food came out quick. We got the katsu chicken curry Ramen, the shrimp fried rice and the house Ramen. Our favorites were the katsu chicken Ramen and the shrimp fried rice. The house house Ramen was OK but definitely nothing to write home about. The noodles came out a little under cooked but were on point by the end of the meal. Would definitely go back
