Wonderful hidden restaurant spot. Very busy and fun family owned environment. It’s the kind of place that everyone seems to be having fun in the back kitchen waiters and of course the guests. It’s the kind of place that you can imagine going to often where they know your name (several regulars walked in with loud acknowledgment!).
Jacob was our server and he is authentic, genuinely kind and will renew your sense of faith in the late teens/“20 something generation” with his warmth and quick witted humor. Great kid for sure.
The food was well portioned and thoughtfully prepared from the complimentary toasty dinner rolls to the entrees. We didn’t get salads but I watched what came out with careful eye and was impressed. We ordered basics – chicken parm, chicken cacciatore, and pizza. All were great and super tasty. Pictures attached.
We will be back soon and I expect after reading this review, I will probably see you there.

Unassuming local joint with super friendly service and large portions of homemade goodness. The best part, BYOB (for a very modest $8 per bottle).
Need to put this on a rotation more frequently. Perfect for a casual night out with Italian comfort food.

Oh wow! I was craving pizza after playing tennis (badly) today. Went on Google Maps and found Basil and Garlic.
I had been in Sicily recently and recognized the Trinacria on the door, so I was excited to go in.
I ordered a Quattro Stagioni to go and a Diet Coke (bonus points for having Coke products!)
As I was waiting, I had a wonderful conversation with the owner about Sicily; she was so welcoming and made me feel at home.
I couldn’t even wait until I got home to try a bit of the pizza, it smelled so good. So piece by piece, bite by bite, I ate an entire slice in the car! It was so good!
I didn’t even look at ordering any other dishes because I really wanted pizza! Now I can’t wait to go back and try some of the other dishes!

Best Italian food ever!! This little hole in the wall place is such a gem. My family and I went for an early dinner and were blown away by everything we ordered. Homemade dough, fresh ingredients, a perfect variety. There happened to only be one staff member on shift at the time we arrived but you never would have guessed judging by the food and service. 10/10 experience all around.

First time in this restaurant and we will return. I grew up in NY and had the pleasure of enjoying outstanding pizza. This restaurant serves better pizza than you can get in NY. The crust is crispy and the sauce and cheese is exceptional. Apparently they make their own dough, which accounts for the great Pizza. Wife had a salad and calzone, both exceptional.
We can’t wait to return and try other items on their menu.

Wow! What an incredible find! We were in North Scottsdale and stumbled across this locally owned family place that is fantastic!
There are 10 tables indoors and a cute little patio as well. They don’t serve alcohol, but there is a shoppette next where you can purchase and bring in for a very reasonable corkage fee.
Service was fast and friendly. I loved the open kitchen, especially when we could hear the chef singing along to the radio.
I had the signature dish, the BG Pasta. I ordered it with penne and shrimp. It was amazing! A creamy basil sauce with plump shrimp and perfectly cooked pasta. My friend had the eggplant parmesan with a a side of angel hair and marina. She loved every bite.
I also had a side house salad and was shocked at how tasty it was. The sliced pepperonci added such a great flavor.
We couldn’t pass up the garlic bread with cheese and so glad we didn’t!

Tiny restaurant tucked away in a shopping center, sandwiched between a vape shop and convenience store. It’s in an unassuming spot but they have incredible pizza and pasta. Highly recommend the b&g special, the sauce is so delicious.

I have been to and enjoyed several Italian restaurants/bistros in and outside of Arizona and I have never had my jaw drop so far to the floor after taking a bite of authentic food like this. Basil & Garlic has the best pizza I’ve personally ever had in my life. The space, service and atmosphere was welcoming and cozy with the trickling of regulars coming in for lunch. The owners were there to immediately greet us and make us feel at home and taken care of. Since it was our first time, we requested that the chef surprise us with their favorite/most popular dishes and we were not disappointed. In fact, we were beyond satisfied. The pasta was immaculate, the sandwiches were mouthwatering and my goodness, the pizza was to die for. This place was obviously built on love and we very much received that feeling while dining on a magnificent lunch. Basil & Garlic is my new #1 Italian bistro!

Service was exceptional, food was seasoned well, cooked to perfection, and great portion size. Not to mention the price of the food which is worth every penny. I didn’t get the servers name but he was amazing. Topped our night off. Best service I’ve had since visiting Arizona from Texas.
