I didn’t realize there was an extra charge for the fajita quesadilla. I chose asada because the server asked which meat I wanted, but it wasn’t explained that it would cost more. The fajita quesadilla came with four pieces, and honestly it wasn’t good or worth over $20.

There is also a 4% card fee that wasn’t mentioned in advance.
On a positive note, the outdoor seating has a nice vibe, and later in the night it seems to turn into a louder bar or club atmosphere.

I came here with my girls, it was 5 of us and we came for brunch. The food was delicious and we also ordered some champagne, shots and drinks. We spent a lot of time at our brunch, the vibes of this place are very comforting and the music was upbeat. Everything was really good, will definitely be going back and recommending to my friends and family!

had a business meeting at Casa de Onda in Costa Mesa, and it turned out to be the perfect spot. The atmosphere is stylish, calm, and welcoming, ideal for both casual conversations and professional meet-ups. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, and the service flowed smoothly the entire time.

The menu had great options, and everything we ordered tasted fresh and high-quality. The space is clean, beautifully designed, and offers just the right balance between lively energy and privacy.

If you’re looking for a great bar/restaurant in Costa Mesa for meetings, remote work, or just a relaxing meal, Casa de Onda is definitely a top pick. Highly recommended, I’ll be coming back again for sure!

Came from Vegas after a couple years and was so excited to see what was new around Costa Mesa / Newport. I was looking for a place with good food and a spot to wrap up my work day. Being from Vegas the bar is set pretty high when I’m looking for a location that makes me feel my money is well spent. Good Mexican-American fusion food is hard to come by. This spot definitely delivered.

The renovation of the location is absolutely stunning it feels like a resort restaurant I almost forgot I was in the shopping center.

The staff is very attentive and welcoming I was working remotely and I wasn’t rushed out or bothered as I took my time to enjoy a gorgeous day. They made sure I was comfortable and checked on me continuously.

The menu has great selections and so many unique flavor combinations from appetizers to complete entrees. The ceviche and corn ribblets were perfect snacks and the lobster tacos were delicious and very well portioned.

I had such a good time I brought friends back with me the following night and was stunned when I saw the location transform into the perfect spot for a night out. Live DJ sets, space to dance, great vibes. This was perfect for a group of girls some hungry and some just wanting to have a good time.

The service while they had nearly every seat in the house full was nothing short of fantastic. Spending the evening trying their different cocktails was time and money well spent. This will be a staple in my future visits.

I have visited three times since the remodel and I have to say, every aspect of this place has improved to 5 stars. The atmosphere they have created is beautiful in the daytime and at night. Try the salmon, you won’t be disappointed! Cudos to Alex and to the new Chef! I highly recommend this place for any occasion.

I was in town for a quick trip and stopped by this plaza for a bite — so glad I chose Casa de Onda! The staff was super friendly; I got to chat with the bartender, and it was nice seeing how they interacted with the regulars too. The food was incredible! My girlfriend still won’t stop talking about the birria quesadillas!
The vibe here is what really sets it apart. It has that perfect Tulum feel; relaxed, stylish, and totally immersive. You honestly forget you’re even in a plaza. I didn’t get to check out the nightlife this time, but I’ll definitely be back for it next trip.

I’ve been a loyal customer of the old La Vida Cantina, so stepping into Casa de Onda was an incredible surprise. The moment you walk in, you can tell this isn’t just a remodel — it’s a complete transformation. The décor is stunning and high-end in every detail. From the elegant lighting fixtures and modern art pieces to the custom-built furniture and statement plants, everything feels intentionally designed to capture that upscale Tulum-meets-Mexico City vibe.

Even the speaker system hanging above the tables doubles as beautiful lighting, adding to the atmosphere in a subtle, sophisticated way. The entire space radiates a polished, tropical-luxury feel that makes you want to stay all night.

Then came the food — absolutely amazing. The lobster enchiladas were perfection, and the cocktails were carefully curated with a mixology flair that ties the whole experience together. We ate before the party started, and the Afro house beats in the background gave just the right energy for a vibrant night out.

Casa de Onda truly exceeded expectations. I haven’t stopped talking about it since — and I’ll definitely be coming back.
