Called in an order at 9:45 for 4 burritos and a stuffed sopapilla and was told it will be ready by 10a. Show up at 10:05 and paid $51 and was told it was almost ready. 20 minutes pass and I overhear the cooks talking about my order and what each one is going to make. 20 more minutes pass and I finally get my food. Drive home and distribute the food to my wife son and daughter. My wife says 1/4 of the sopapilla and says the meat tastes spoiled and ruined her appetite, my son eats 1/4 of his burrito and I eat 3/4 of mine and we both decide to eat bowls of cereal as that is more satisfying as the bland overcooks fajita burritos we ate. My daughter said her beef jerky wasn’t good and we shouldn’t get it from there anymore (she had a steak burrito) clean restaurant clean bathrooms and pleasant staff interaction aside from the lie my food was almost ready.

I went to the location in Rio rancho. This particular location was very clean and the staff is extremely friendly. You will need to wait at least 15 minutes for your food but it is very much worth the wait!
Not many places these days are making an effort to remain authentic to New Mexican food but Perico’s does. All of the dishes are tasty and delicious. I love tacos and I love my tacos because I make them with ground beef and potato and so does Perico’s.. The refried beans and Spanish rice are delicious. This location is small about 40 people at a time maybe so you might have to get it to go but I would eat their food anywhere (almost).

I loved my asada burrito! I didn’t get beans or onion in mine. Just double meat!

I’ve been here a handful of times. Food is pretty good but service is horrible. A young lady named Adrianna was very unprofessional and not willing to give me the manager name so I could call the following day. We paid $8 for a container of lettuce with a table spoon of guacamole. Also, once we ordered the ground beef tacos and got a taco shell full of potatoes with two small crumbles of meet. Definitely not worth the money!

Got it — here’s a polished, narrative, Local‑Guide‑style review specifically for Perico’s based on the experience you described earlier:

Perico’s – NW Albuquerque

Perico’s is one of those places where the care shows the moment you walk in. You can tell the team takes real pride in the food they serve and that level of attention always gives me confidence in the food that follows.

The shredded beef tacos are the star here, tender, flavorful, and consistently excellent. And the sopapillas? Light, warm, and absolutely worth saving room for. Honestly, everything they make has that “made with care” quality that keeps people coming back.

Prices are very reasonable, portions are generous, and the staff is genuinely kind and friendly. It’s the kind of neighborhood spot where you feel welcomed right away.

If you’re anywhere in NW Albuquerque, Perico’s is a must‑try. Great food, great people, and a level of cleanliness that really stands out.

Food is very good! The employees have no sense of humor and appear to be bored! You can have great food but I don’t like going to a funeral for tacos!

I ordered 2 dozen tamales for a company lunch party 2 days in advance. They said that they would have them ready and warm by eleven. I show up at eleven fifteen. They’re charging me $92 for 2 dozen tamales. They actually only have one dozen on hand and nothing is warmed up for me. I just walked out. Very poor .management and customer service.

Meh! This used to be a pretty good place to get tacos… You can get six tacos for around 12 bucks… This place is now charging you $0.50 anytime you use a credit card! What! I ordered the number 15 burrito off the menu.. the burrito was okay but definitely nothing special. The size of the burrito was somewhere between small and medium. Next time I’ll drive down the road a little ways and go to Stripes burritos. The burritos at stripes are at least 50% larger for the same price! …. and they are very good.

First time ever eating mexican food, and I’ve really enjoyed it. The quesadilla was nice, the taco was nice, rice and beans were nice and the burrito with red and green chile was also nice. The staff was super kind and suggested me well (I had a “coconut special” menu). If I’ll ever be back in Albuquerque, I’d definitely pass by for sure

Wife ordered us 2 burritos. I was unaware of the cost or what exactly it was that she ordered. Upon arrival I was asked for payment (roughly $25) thought “OK she ordered some combo meals or something. Cashier hands me a small bag with 2 burritos inside. They charge a lot for extra guac and potatoes I guess. Burritos still very small might as well be a taquito. You guys are way overpriced and your food is mediocre. I can go to stripes, get a way bigger burrito that costs less, and tastes better. I wouldn’t recommend this place.
