This is a hole in the wall type restaurant. Waiting was long, very crowded and noisy. Table next to each other, feel like sardines.
Their food plate #41 (broken rice with steam cake, grill shrimp paste on sugar cane, BBQ pork) and #45 (rice vermicelle with bbq pork and grill shrimp), both dishes were delicious, generous portion, enough to share. I won’t dine in but definitely will order to go next time.

Today my husband and I were excited to try Com Tam Thien Hao. We ordered #44 – broken rice with Korean style beef ribs, spending about $21.

We genuinely wanted to enjoy our meal, but we were surprised by how small the portions were for the price, compared to other Com Tam places in the area. The beef ribs were also extremely salty, to the point where it was hard to finish. I mentioned it politely to a woman who seemed to be the owner or manager, half wearing a black hat, just to share the feedback. Instead of a quick apology or even a simple “I understand,” she responded, “You’ve already eaten it, so what do you want to change?” I wasn’t asking for a replacement, and I wasn’t trying to get anything out of it. I just wanted to let her know in case other customers feel the same. I just expected a little kindness and professionalism. She said it was marinated that way, then turned away, mumbled something under her breath, and walked inside without saying anything else.

We left feeling unsatisfied and dismissed. It was disappointing because we came in excited and hopeful. There are many broken rice restaurants in the are with bigfer portions for the price and better service. A little respect would have gone a long way

Decided to try something different for lunch in Little Saigon today. Instead of opting for the many Phở places in Little Saigon, I went here and tried some Cơm Tấm. It tasted great and the portion size was generous. I liked the texture of the meat and the shrimp on the sugar cane as well as the shredded pork which complemented the rice. Dining experience was pretty good, my waiter was friendly.

I ordered the special rice with everything (I think it’s 43 or something, the one with Korean beef short ribs, not pork). The soup was a bit salty, the dipping sauce was good. The boneless short rib was a bit chewy. Give it a try and let me know what you think

It’s correct with the rating’s average. Everything was well done enough for 4 stars.

The food wasn’t bad, but I felt that the broken rice was a little bit drier than usual. The meat was well-seasoned and tasted good with the rice. However, the fish sauce was a bit too salty for my liking. Overall, it’s a decent broken rice restaurant.

I would say this is the best restaurant for Com Tam from my own experience. I ordered Com Tam Suon Bi Tau Hu Ky (BBQ Pork Chop, Shredded skin, and Fried Shrimp Cake) as usual but this time I added a fried egg to it. It was amazing as usual and I have been returning to this restaurant multiple times whenever I crave some Com Tam.
The staff are nice. The wait might be long as it is quite popular so be prepared to wait if you go during busy times or go as a big group since this restaurant is a bit small.
Though, I strongly recommend this restaurant if you haven’t tried Com Tam before or are craving it just like me!

My mom loves com tam and after trying out so many places in OC, this is the place to go. They make mainly com tam and with an exception of pho and bun.

We got #5 broken rice with shredded pork skin, egg cake, and bbq pork and added a fried egg. Their egg cake is fresh not dry. The bbq pork is so flavorful, tender and moist. Their shredded pork skin is not the best because it’s too much skin to meat ratio.

Got #46 rice vermicelli with bbq pork and egg roll. How you judge this dish is by the meat and the bbq pork is super moist and flavorful.

We’ve ordered here numerous times and their bbq pork does not disappoint. There’s every combo you can think of.

There’s parking but it’s a bit sketchy with the homeless population becoming violent to each other so be careful!
