I’ve bought food here a couple times and I wanted to bring my family in to try the Pastor tacos because they are actually really good. We placed our order and sat down and after 45 minutes of sitting there we see people coming and going with their orders, we are wondering what happened to our order since we haven’t received it yet and we go ask and the girls at the cashier to find out they had forgotten about us, skipped putting our order in ,were completely lost and couldn’t figure out why we hadn’t gotten our order yet and had no urgency to get us our order so we sadly asked for a refund and went Nextdoor to eat sushi. Their customer service and awareness for the business customers is not there at all, seems like they could care less and we’re too busy talking.

For me, this place is always hit or miss. Today, it was a miss. My friend wanted to come. This is what my food looked like. Please tell me what I ordered. Most of the sauce was in the bag. I held the bag between my feet so the spill happened when she put it in the bag and I missed it. I cut my Rellano and enchilada in half and separated my Rice and beans. This costs about $15 bucks with tax. The last picture is from above and actually what I ordered and expected.

Honestly my family and I were excited to try the food but after waiting for 45 minutes to receive my food and realized that something was wrong when I noticed people that had came 15 minutes after me getting there food first I realized me and my family where forgotten. Poor customer service just got a refund and left. How could the employees not notice there was literally a worker taking her break behind us and didn’t think to say anything to her coworkers it’s not like the place is big to not see us. I refuse to give a restaurant business when they can care less about there customers I’ll pay 5 dollars a small taco elsewhere thanks for nothing.

Authentic Mexican food at reasonable prices. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Los Portales Taco Shop.
The hard shell tacos (both shredded beef and shredded chicken) were full of meat, juicy, and very tasty.
The bean & cheese tostado was good. I personally like a crispier, bigger tostado shell.
And the chicken rolled tacos were crispy & full of meat. They were very good.
The service at the cash register was friendly and helpful. Even had a little conversation where I decided to get some delicious Horchata. Just like the Vampire Weekend song with the lyrics, “…in December drinking Horchata…”
No problem with the parking. Pretty big parking lot.
I highly recommend Los Portales Taco Shop.

Being that’s it’s of Scott Rd & Newport Rd. There’s not to many Mexican food places in the area. pretty decent food here. I’m a burrito guy, why not have the entire flavor of your meal in one delicious bite!
That said, the last trip there had me enjoying the Pollo Asada burrito. The chicken has a decent char flavor backed up with beans rice and some guac on the side (I order it on side, as I’ve noticed we tend to get more, than asking out inside )
The wife tends to get a taquito plate, but since trying my burrito has also given the to the pollo burrito. As for the atmosphere, pretty much inline with the Taco shop & Los Primoo (pretty much food wise too) with an edge to Primos for burritos.
If you live in the area I could see this as your go to. It’s always clean and tidy when I walk in, takes about 10 minutes to get your food and worth your hard earn money and time. If you like the two places as mentioned above, you’ll like Los Portales!

What a poor way to end my day. The first picture is of the ceviche tostada that I had previously. Then I get this lazy half ass tostada today. Your staff at the front handing out food should have caught this and been like Sir this wasn’t made to our standards it’s being made again. Instead I was told taste it. If you don’t like it we will have home remake it. Not cool. I will most likely never come back and you guys do make good food. Unfortunate . So disappointed

Come here all the time and food is good. Our problem this time is that went to wash our hands and there was no soap!!! When we brought it to their attention we were told that they were out of soap!!! Today is Sunday and last Friday there was no soap in the men’s restroom. Does this mean that the employees don’t wash their hands either???! Don’t know how this gets by the Health Department!!!
