Union Pub has become a regular stop for us before sporting events, offering both consistent quality and a true Buffalo vibe. The menu delivers, with the food being uniformly delicious. A personal standout is the hot BBQ sauce, which is easily one of the best. Be prepared for classic, shoestring-cut fries, and don’t miss the French Onion Soup, which is a surprisingly strong offering.

The atmosphere celebrates local heritage, featuring a Buffalo Sports theme highlighted by blue seats from the old Aud at the entrance. Note that the pub fills up quickly on event nights, so reservations or early arrival are advised. For a casual spot with great eats downtown, Union Pub is a highly recommended choice.

Came here due to its high Google rating and was not disappointed.

Wings were on point, at a perfect balance between crisp and tender. Medium wings were perfectly saucy and easy to eat, and the sweet chili lime was sneaky good though quite sweet. Also, their bleu (blue? Idk) cheese dressing was so good I could have eaten it with a spoon.

Beef on weck was decent, with decent seasoning on the beef. It was somewhat cold, but that’s understandable since they probably slice it earlier in the day. The sandwich was notable for having a surprisingly great kimmelweck roll – seriously, I don’t think I’ve had a better one.

French onion soup had a thick layer of cheese on it and was decent, with a reasonably strong beef flavor (albeit a bit metallic beef base-y for my liking). I think it could have used a bit more acidity (or sherry) to break up the heaviness and add depth, but that’s me being a snob. (I do make a mean French onion myself, after all )

Service was friendly and kind, and treated me like I belonged there, rather than just someone filling a seat. Everyone was so insanely nice. Moreover, the value of what you get for your money is insane here. This was a great experience and I’d choose to come here any time I’m staying here in the future.

Anyway, this was a overly detailed, pointlessly long review to say that you should stop reading Google reviews and just go here already. You won’t regret it.

They have the best chicken wings hands down in Buffalo, and that’s coming from a food lover from Chicago. J & Joe made sure we had a great time in their establishment and was more than friendly. It felt like family. I even wanted to meet the chef the food was so good. We came back the next day for seconds and that top notch service. Thanks guys. I will be back!!!

Enjoyed the 75 cent wing special when having a late-Monday lunch. Sauce choices were great and wings were’t as big as other places on town but were cooked to perfection. We started with fried pickles as our appetizer and they were crispy and satisfying. My wife had a well-prepared mushroom swiss burger and shoestring potatoes. They were delicious! The only unpleasant surprise was no unsweetened iced tea to drink. Seems like a basic thing in restaurants. Waitress was super friendly and made our lunch a relaxing, enjoyable experience. Thank you.

The bartender was helpful on us ordering what wings to eat. The cheddar Cayenne and the mafia wings were amazing.

We enjoyed a mid-week lunch at the Union Pub. It was quiet just after the lunch rush and the service was prompt, attentive and accurate.

I chose the daily special which was buffalo mac & cheese (mac & cheese topped with a chopped buffalo sauced chicken finger) and pretzel bites on the side. The mac and cheese tasted house made and the chicken finger was great, although a touch salty (wing sauce is however). I wish I had a cheese or mustard dip for the pretzels, they were soft and tasty anyway. The portion size was perfect in my opinion.

I’d definitely return to try other items.

My girlfriend and I have made Union pub a must stop ahead of Sabres games (coming in from Rochester) Bill has been the bartender the 4 times we’ve been, remembered our faces orders and treated us like family every time. Wings are great, drink prices can’t be beaten, clean bar, Great service. If you’re headed to a Sabres game and don’t feel like spending $20 for a beer go to Union Pub. And make sure you tip Bill accordingly!

I had the Jester wings, which were a perfect blend of sweet and spicy and some of the best wings I’ve ever had, topped off with the friendliest and most accommodating service I’ve experienced. Genuinely a staple for what the food service industry should always be. I highly recommend you stop by this place if you’re in town.

I had placed an order for chicken fingers and fries last night. The owner of the restaurant called me and told me the food had been sitting at the restaurant for more than half an hour! Food was still amazing either way. They really care about the people they serve and love to help! Loved the experience and will definitely try again !

Sent here via colleague recommendation while on business 1h away. Worth the effort. Great people, wonderful humour, very welcoming. Excellent American pub food and generous portions. The Pint of Bacon is absurd but you just have to… Good local beers. Thanks Jay & team!
