Oh Angelina
Dined in for the first time ever¡!
Went back a couple weeks later to grab a take home plate ❤️‍
Felt weird to be in Fair Haven after so many years…
Once my plate was in front of me…
I didn’t have another thought about the past…
All I could do was eat the in front of me¡!
Must have in this life¡!
A point of reference…

Food is good here. Nothing really spectacular but just food that taste as it should. Sometimes a little bland but acceptable

I was surprised to see what LOOKED like Puertorican foods and see two Asians there… I went pretty early and the yucca was already sold out . I think they are popular because many came in. They speak Spanish … I got arroz amarillo con gandiles …pernil y habichuelas.
Ok so I’ve grown up eating and cooking PR food. There was something missing. But the fact they are Asian made it amazing..they did a fantastic job. I won’t criticize them because they’re not Latino. it was good enough. The price was good for a good amount of food. If they learn about sofrito they will be perfect. Also…don’t keep the pernil in water…and get separate the skin so it stays crisp. Overall very good I was really surprised!!!

Just because the owners may appear Chinese that does not mean they did not immigrate from Puerto Rico. Many Chinese who lived in Cuba emigrated to Puerto Rico after Castro in 1959, and from PR they later came to the mainland US, especially the New York area. I’ve been coming here for years and I can tell you the food is authentic and excellent.

Grabbed lunch here, and got chicken, rice and beans. Food was delicious! I don’t speak Spanish, but between the girls behind counter and one of the customer’s help we figured out what I wanted! Got a lot of delicious food for not a lot of money. I’ll be back.

The one thing that has me still coming here is the beef and potato empanada but I’m pretty disappointed with just about everything else I’ve ever had. The tostones were super old, super dry and not crispy at all. There’s not really more to say except that there’s way better Spanish food out there (one place is actually only a few blocks away) for a lot cheaper.

Came out here with the family to try out the food, and it was excellent! We ate pernil with guineitos and yuca, pasteles, alcapurrias, yellow rice, papas rellenas and we left nothing behind, that’s a plus. Will be coming back but they need to play some music like SALSA* to spice the atmosphere. Thanks!

Alcapuria are usually good but today. It tastes like soap. I ended up throwing it out call the owner and let her know. And him that their food taste like soap also found a hair
The owner said this never happened before maybe because people don’t have time to report it and just go about your day.But I had the time to put it out there. This is not the first time but will never go back again
