Had my birthday dinner with family here last weekend. Made reservations through Open Table. Located on the second level coming in from the front entrance nicely tucked in the back. We were greeted enthusiastically by the hostess and were led directly to our table. We had early reservations, so it wasn’t busy yet. There was only one server working at the time, but we didn’t wait very long. We ordered a few appetizers, including Grilled Provolone Cheese, Prawns Paco Alcalde – (Shrimp in Spicy Tomato Sauce), and the Garlic Butter Steak Bites
For mains, we had the Dorrego’s Burger, the Ribeye and the Fish of the day which I cannot remember the name but it was excellent!
My dining companion was unable to eat the burger because the sauce had a spicy sauce. I tried it but it wasn’t that spicy. The waiter took it back and I wish I had them pack it to-go for me because I still paid for it. I mistakenly thought it was going to be taken off the bill. Oh well. Nevertheless, this did not detract from how the whole experience was totally wonderful: from the ambiance, the service, the food, and the overall vibe of the restaurant. The waiter even gave us sample of a red wine that he thought would go well with our order. I also got a free dessert for my birthday! Yay! Will certainly return again.

First, I wanna give a shout out to Evan and Aaron for making our experience amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant and will list it as a favorite for multiple reasons:
1. Valet Option
2. Superb Service
3. Clean Facility & Restroom
4. Lowkey, chill, and relaxing ambiance
5. Delicious food!
Below is my rating of the plates we had:
Meatballs: 5/5
Seafood Fideo: 5/5
Lamb Shank: 5/5
Moscato: 5/5
I loved how they checked on us often enough, but gave us the privacy to enjoy our meal & conversation. Even the seating was comfortable. I just really enjoyed the vibe and how good it smelled just walking into the hotel itself.

I’ve been wanting to try Dorrego’s for a while, and it didn’t disappoint. The space is beautiful-big but warm, with a great vibe that makes it feel both lively and welcoming. Service throughout was friendly, personable, and exactly what you’d expect from a restaurant of this caliber. We went with the PRAWNS PACO ALCALDE – (SHRIMP IN SPICY TOMATO SAUCE)as an appetizer which was excellent start. The meal started with some bread and butter, we ordered one plate to share of the CHARRED LAMB LOIN$50
Served with Garlic Confit Fingerling Potatoes, Sofrito Vegetables, and Mojo Verde.
• The lamb was excellent, and one plate was definitely enough for my husband and I .Dessert brought things full circle with a KEY LIME CHEESECAKE and beautifully balanced with a delicious cappuccino. Overall, an outstanding dinner and a place l’d happily return to!

Edwin, Edwin, Edwin. You sir are a rockstar!! We made reservations to celebrate an anniversary. It was our 2nd time visiting San Antonio and wanted to try something different. I found this restaurants but was rather difficult to locate. It’s inside of a hotel but I didn’t see any signage for it. The valet to the hotel lead us inside where, Emily, the hostess directed us to the restaurant. We had the option to sit anywhere, as it was a slow night. We sat outdoors. Edwin was our waiter and he did a phenomenal job. We ordered, ate and had a wonderful time. Towards the end, our waiter wasn’t coming as frequently as before then we noticed the restaurant got full. He had a tabletop of 8 people and a bunch of other small ones. It turns out he was the only one working for that shift. Even tho he was slammed, he still took the time to bring us a complimentary dessert. That was awesome! Definitely recommend visiting here. Bravo Edwin, bravo.

This restaurant impressed us twice with its exceptional service. We were pleased to meet Mohammed a few days ago, who delivered outstanding customer service during our dinner. Because of his service and the food we went back.
Today, we returned for lunch and enjoyed the attentive service provided by Brandon, the bartender. The combination of savoury dishes, craft cocktails, and spectacular views makes this restaurant a top recommendation.
You must try the empanadas!

Absolutely beautiful restaurant and the food was excellent. The service was excellent too.
It’s worth the hassle of finding parking. A couple kids options would be nice.

Ate here before a concert last week. A huge part of this rating is for our waitress, Lauren A.
I was skeptical to order a few items but trusted her recommendations and I’m so glad we did!
The prawns were amazing. No fishy taste, light but flavorful. The empanadas were not overly greasy and the crust was flaky and complimented the chorizo filling inside. I didn’t try the steak bites (I was too in love with the shrimp) but my two friends raved about them and ended up with two orders.
Lauren was attentive, knowledgeable of the menu, and brought such a great vibe to the table. Thank you Lauren!

Dorrego’s at Hotel Valencia has a beautiful setting with an elegant and inviting ambiance, making it a pleasant place to dine or have a drink. However, the service can be inconsistent—sometimes you’re greeted by a friendly and attentive staff, while at other times, especially during breakfast, the service feels unenthusiastic or indifferent. This inconsistency extends to the bar as well.
The food is decent but not particularly memorable, and the drinks are average. While the atmosphere adds to the experience, the overall impression could be greatly improved with more consistently engaged and welcoming service.

We ate here for Thanksgiving. We were greeted right away and they gave us a quick tour of the different stations for the food. We sat down and our server took our drink order. Antonio our server was very attentive and fun. We enjoy the music provided by Terry who was fantastic on the guitar. We met Chef Bryan who checked to make sure everything was to our liking. We had Antonio the director come by to make sure everything satisfactory. The food was amazing they had prime rib which was so delicious, the pork from the roasted pig was tasty but the turkey was cooked to perfection, the meat was moist and full of flavor. The sides were just as amazing the cornbread stuffing, cranberries, garlic mash potatoes but the star of that was the sweet potatoes with butter pecan.
They had oysters on the half shell, crab claws, smoked salmon and bagels with smear. Many different salads available the two I tasted were so delicious. They had a breakfast station with omelets made right in front of you. The omelets were cooked to perfection and so delicious.
The desserts were all very delicious, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, apple pie, chocolate cake, and assorted brownies, but the star of that table was the bread pudding. All the wait staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful. We plan on making this an annual tradition.
