This place is actually pretty cool. It’s got a fun retro vibe with its decor. But for how old their style is, the seats and booths are in great shape. And they have a plant growing along a wire around the entirety of the perimeter of the room.
I had the ranchero chicken pizza – which was really a chicken, bacon, ranch pizza. And it was great. The crust was crisp, and they did not skimp on the cheese.
Another member of party got wings, a sub, and fries. And that looked extremely run-of-the-mill. But it is called Pizza 786 – not Subs 786.
The prices were also pretty reasonable.
Minus 1 star for a nearly silly reason. For some reason – even though they offer white sauce and ranch sauce on specialty pizzas – they will only let you order a custom pizza with red sauce. It doesn’t make any sense. They have the other sauces available, but they keep them off limits for no reason.

My favorite local spot, hands-down.
I’ve been coming here for close to 10 years now, and any time I require pizza or wings- I hear her siren song.
Portions are massive, especially in the pizza and calzone realm.
Wings are crispy and the sauces are flavorful and plentiful.
Fries (I get them well done) are crispy and delicious.
I usually get take out, but the inside is super retro and unique.
The service is excellent and always has been. There’s this one girl there with blond hair that always greets me with a big smile and makes sure all of my food is packaged perfectly for its journey home.
Highly recommend the Monster Za’ for feeding a crowd! Massive pizza with massive flavor for a price you can’t beat.

I’ve visited 786 Arbutus several times and my experiences have been consistently disappointing. The service feels rushed and unwelcoming — a counter staff member frequently behaves as if customers are an inconvenience, giving curt responses and little eye contact. On multiple visits I left feeling like I’d been rushed out the door rather than appreciated as a customer.
The service issues are compounded by what I observed behind the counter. Employees were not rotating products properly; I saw older items placed where they were easily accessible to be served, with no visible date labeling or organization. That raises real food-safety concerns for me and makes me question their inventory and kitchen practices.
Orders have sometimes been handled inconsistently and with minimal care. I’ve had requests overlooked or toppings added incorrectly, and the staff did not offer much effort to correct mistakes. Combined with a hurried atmosphere, it feels more transactional than customer-oriented.
For a neighborhood spot, I expected friendlier service and clearer attention to food safety. I hope management addresses staff training, enforces basic product rotation and labeling, and creates a more welcoming environment. Until then, I won’t be returning and can’t recommend this location to others.

This is our families favorite pizza spot. We do not eat pork and they do not serve any pork products! So we are able to enjoy beef pepperoni and it is delicious. We love the staff and the monster pizza. Their cheese pizza is amazing as well! We order from here almost every weekend. We haven’t tried many other things besides pizza here.

Overpriced nasty food i ordered from them there was hair in my food i called n complained was told they would refund my money back to my bank card it would take a few days they lied the money was nvr refunded. A year later mistakenly tried them again last night 4 sub specials $50 the meatball sub was the worst thing I’ve ever tasted plain sub had some sort of Indian spice in it i cant express how disgusting it was n cheessesteaks were terribly dry save ur money absolutely nasty food way overpriced

I used to love Sorentos prior to Changing ownership. I live in the neighborhood and have for a very, very long time and spend a lot of money at Sorentos. Well, I tried to call today to place it to go order and I was gonna order multiple items along with my Son who’s a child was going to get a kids meal. Well apparently you can’t order kids meals to go, which is absolutely ridiculous. If you want chicken fingers, you have to order the adult meal which cost damn near double and will wind up getting thrown in the trash because he can’t eat that much ! So its n obviously a big huge waste of money. The fact that you can’t order kids meals to go is absolutely insane and shows how money hungry they are they do that so you have to order the other one which like I said cost double, well as much as I love their food, I will be taking my business elsewhere. They are so unbelievably expensive as it is and now you can’t even order a kids meal for your child.
