This place is a hidden gem in the center of Syracuse NY. The sauce for the mussels was extraordinary and well thought out! The glaze on the salmon was exquisite. The salmon was cooked ro perfection.
The atmosphere was quiet as it was a Wednesday. But very open and relaxing!
The service was interesting. Isabella was my waitress. A young college student who just finished at a local community college and said she was considering continuing her education in business finance. I see nothing but success in this young girls future! She is professional, and appears to have a solid work ethic as well!
If you are a local, give this place a try. And if you are traveling from out of town and staying in the hotel, you have a really good place to eat right downstairs!
All the best Salt City Eatery and Isabella!!!

For being inside a Hotel I am impressed on the food. It was truly good food. Took a little time, but well worth the wait. Now on the other hand Salt City Eatery doesn’t have the best atmosphere if you’re looking for quiet or private. With the hotel lobby entrance right next to the restaurant plenty of noise and action is there for you to engage with, as well and this is not the restaurants fault, but if someone’s in the lobby with there kids, well then enjoy the show with children.
Now this is a review from someone who was looking for a nice place to eat that was different, not someone staying at the Hotel, had I been in the Hotel I would not mind that there was constant engagement with others. The quality of service was also decent, but the server was going back and forth between tending us and doing room service, she seemed to have her hands full, bless her heart. I feel as if there just needs some more engagement and maybe something that helps separate and make Salt City Eatery different and special. Most meals were between $18-30. Decent selection for appetizers. No desserts. A bar near by so plenty of options for adult beverages.

Came here with the kids. Just had the 3 worst burgers I have ever either had or heard about. 2 smash burgers and what they call Hulk burger. I hope this is not normal. They did take some money off the check but wow.

We’re a hockey family that travels all over the northeast and you never know what you’ll get with a restaurant in a hotel. That being said this restaurant blew us away and exceeded expectations. I had the brisket sandwich and it was fresh, flavorful, hot, and not at all soggy even in the takeout box. Wife got the burger and shes never had as good experience on the first time ordering from an out of town restaurant. Definitely save yourself a door dash or grub hub fee and order here

Dined here multiple times over a three night stay. Amy was our bartender each time and made our dining experience great with drinks and food choices at the restaurant. She also gave great recommendations to have a good time in Syracuse outside the hotel. She’s a gem and the perfect bartender to make you welcome in a city you don’t know!

During our stay at the Embassy Suites, my family and I dined at Salt City Eatery upon arriving late. Hotel dining experiences can be hit or miss, but this place is definitely a HIT! The food is not just delicious, it’s exciting! The chef’s passion and technical skills truly elevate the dishes and overall dining experience. With techniques like spherification adding a fun element to some dishes, dining here is a unique and delightful experience.
On our first night, we enjoyed bruschetta, steak sirloin, caprese chicken, and chicken truffle pasta – all perfectly cooked, beautifully plated, and generously portioned. The meal was so good that we returned for dinner on our last night. This time, we tried the salmon and burger with truffle fries. The salmon was cooked to perfection, with a beautiful presentation and delightful flavors in every bite. The chef’s creation of lemon butter caviar to complement the salmon was a truly memorable touch!
It’s a shame that the hotel doesn’t promote the restaurant more because it truly is a hidden gem! This unexpected culinary experience added to our already wonderful stay at the Embassy Suites.

A nice hotel restaurant with a phenomenal waiter and okay food. You pay top dollar for your meal and get what seems like frozen food from Walmart. It was edible but definitely not worth the money. It was very clean and had a super friendly waiter who took great care of everyone there. I think the embassy suites could do better with the food and or pricing. I probably won’t go back.

Needed a late night snack but the boneless wings were the worst I’ve ever had. To add insult to injury, they didn’t even have enough buffalo sauce to cover up the terrible taste.

Got take out from here today, best grilled cheese I have had in a long time. Had the buffalo chicken one! Fries on the side were meh, but could care less since the sandwich was huge and I was super full when I finished it.

We were abandoned. We had to seat ourselves. Waited thirty minutes and still didn’t receive service had to beg to be served and beg for our check. The waiter never came up to us after we received our food. And to add insult to injury the food there was no passion or creativity. Two pieces of bread, American cheese and breaded chicken fingers blue cheese and hot sauce on a sandwich are just so disgusting. I can’t let others suffer from our experience. If you see Stacks, run away.
