Best Cheesesteak delicious On a true Large 12 inch sub roll Lettuce, tomato, mayo all so fresh My wife’s turkey sub toasted was a 5 star sub as well. We normally love this place but tonight I wasn’t to happy. We came there for two of our kids birthdays and the waitress seemed new to industry. She was friendly but no personality and we had to get her attention a few times and she brought a regular cup instead of cup with lid for my youngest daughter…then it’s 730 and they are out of sweet tea. Asked if they were going to make more and she said probably not because it was close to closing time which isn’t until 11pm. But offered other drink since they couldnt refill ours… So my kids drank soda instead which mind you we already had sweet tea so had to change drinks all together. Another gentleman had to come over and refill us once and grab extra mayo even though she had been to table and seen my drink was empty when delivering food and she spilt chips setting my wife’s food down onto her she also set it in front of kids first instead of her originally. She acted like she was nervous to serve people. Also we set beside the TV (bad choice I know but there was only a few tables open with our size of family with one person sitting at the biggest table they had) and the TV was on music that kept repeating a clip of the same song over and over for 40 plus mins we were there. Food was great except I feel like we used to get more meat on our subs. I honestly feel like the service was the problem tonight though very subpar from what it used to be. Probably be a while before we come back to try again. Also when someone orders no onions on their sub they probably don’t want it on their side salad if you don’t know you should ask when it’s a deliberate request for no onions.

All aspects of our meal was perfect; as always. Stromboli, cheese sticks & a cheeseburger plate (missing the soda) were all cooked to perfection & served piping hot. Whether you dine in, take out, or have delivery, the customer service is top notch.

Spent the weekend in town. Ate here several time. Each time the food was great and significantly better than the other stuff we tried.

I was here years ago in 2013-2015. I grew up in Grottoes Virginia. They have good pizza and chicken alfredo. I live in California but, I’ll always remember these guys as Shenduns.

The salad that came with the pasta had lettuce, tomato, cucumber, red onion, and croutons. The croutons were chewy but the homemade ranch dressing is so good, you could drink it. The fettuccine alfredo is creamy with heavy garlic, delicious! The steak was undercooked, but had great flavor. The garlic bread has a slightly crispy outside and chewy inside, a perfect dipping bread. We were offered dessert, but had no room. Service was prompt with a smile, no wait, but we arrived before the dinner rush.

I ordered chicken parmigiana and didn’t realize you had to request your chicken to be breaded. I order this at other restaurants and have never been served just plain chicken on spaghetti with a sauce that taste nothing like a tomato sauce. It was the most disgusting thing I have ever tasted!!! You should be informed you have to request the breaded style chicken when ordering, which is how it should be served. A couple bites and it went right in the trash.

This place has come a long way since it first opened. In a good way. I’m actually surprised it survived covid. However, this place is pretty good now. The pizza and cheese fries are hard to beat in this small town. No matter how many times I pass by or order pizza or dine in this place will always be Shenduns to me.
