One of the best experiences in the east Austin area.
The staff is one of the best that there is.
We love coming here to spend time with them and to relax.
We love that the jello shots are steady and readily available as they make them so good.
They always know what I want right when I walk in.
This is one gem that will never be beaten.
Best place in Austin in my opinion!
Also, they have a maze with lots of activities!

1/2026 A short drive from town east on MLK/969 will get you to this huge venue which has actual old signs from current and nostalgic businesses around Austin.
The large outdoor courtyard area features many themed display areas, and you’re welcome to move the seating around to suit your party. Various conversation places exist to let your group escape to a secluded nook for a semi-private space, plus a pool table or foosball table nook. Like mazes? There’s a crazy big real maze to adventure through.
The main inside bar has big glass windows looking out onto this big flashy courtyard, and has several local beer on tap plus a full bar selection. Food is available to order.
There’s also a food truck onsite. The always delicious Donns’ BBQ joint is right next door. If it were downtown, it would be giving Franklin’s a good bit of competition so get some BBQ before they close for the night!

I frequently visit sign bar on the weekends and I always enjoy my time there. Drinks are reasonably priced. They have a variety of games outside like ping pong, jenga, etc. This place really needs a touch tunes or something though, I feel everytime I come it’s the same 10-15 songs on repeat or the same genre constantly and there’s many times where the music just stops out of no where from time to time and then it comes back on after a few minutes. Also, the pool table they have could be placed in a bigger space as sometimes it’s difficult to hit the ball bc you are so close to the walls. The staff is friendly & quick. Overall this place has me coming back, there’s just a few things I wanted to suggest.

A wonderful surprise to stumble on this bar. We went to Lao’d Bar for dinner and this was next door. This is a very interesting and unique place full of old signs that they’ve somehow accumulated and put everywhere. They have a large outdoor space that I imagine is fun when the weather is nice. We’ll definitely be back.

It’s a nice spot. Good for afternoon or evening experience. The staff is awesome. The atmosphere is a nice vibe. Plenty of drinks to choose from. And there are food trucks for some mid drinking delights. Check it out if you haven’t been.

If the Island of Misfit Toys had a hard-drinking cousin who never grew up and still wears neon leg warmers to brunch, it’d be Sign Bar. This is where signs go to die — and then immediately rise from the grave to dance on the bar top.
Walking in feels like stumbling into a vintage fever dream after accidentally licking a 9-volt battery: every inch of wall, ceiling, and cranny is plastered with relics from roadside Americana. Stop signs flirt with beer ads from the ’70s. Neon arrows point to nowhere. A speed limit sign from 1984 probably saw more action than your Tinder profile. It’s not decor — it’s a full-blown sensory circus.
The vibe outside is just as delightfully unhinged. Acres of patio seating sprawl beneath the glow of retro signage, with tucked-away shady corners for introverts and foosball tables for people who still use the word “gnarly.” Mister fans do their noble best against the Texas sun, and yard games keep things rowdy enough that someone’s inevitably going to argue over cornhole like it’s the Olympics.
We swung by in October and dove headfirst into their Halloween cocktail lineup — colorful, cheeky, and a tad too sweet for my taste (think “liquid Jolly Rancher” meets “Frankenstein’s happy hour”). But let’s be honest, we weren’t here for a sommelier experience; we were here for the spectacle. And the bartender, bless his bubbly little heart, was as charming and attentive as a golden retriever with a cocktail shaker.
Next time, I’m coming back after dark. Word is, when all the signs light up, you can probably spot this joint from the International Space Station. And if that’s not a five-star endorsement, I don’t know what is.

We love sign bar! The vibe curated by the vintage Austin signs is truly unmatched. There is so much to see, a feast for the eyes! There’s not a concept like this anywhere near by. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Great NA beer selection. Tastey boa and spring rolls from next door too!

Sign Bar is one of the coolest bars we’ve come across in Austin and a great spot to bring out-of-town visitors. From the moment you pull into the parking lot, you can appreciate the scale and creativity of the place. There’s someone at the entrance to check IDs, and once inside, the indoor bar is to the left, while the rest of the space opens up into a large outdoor area with themed seating, lawn & table games, a vantage point, and even a small maze near the back.
We ordered two cocktails, but unfortunately, both were disappointing. It was a challenge to finish them, and we actually considered leaving them unfinished. Also, note that there’s a 3% surcharge for credit card payments.
Gin & Josie ($13) – Made with Fords Gin, lemon, and mint. It tasted overwhelmingly like straight gin with little balance.
Frisco Fizz ($16) – A blend of Aguasol Silver Tequila, Aperol, lime, and Jarritos grapefruit. Slightly better than the Gin & Josie, but still not enjoyable enough to order again.
