Unfortunately, the food was not great. I got the sweet-and-sour chicken combo and my mom got the orange chicken combo. I kid you not they used the same sauce for both meals
The breaded chicken had no flavor and was just a bit watery. The shrimp fried rice that we got with the combo also had no flavor. At least the shrimp was decently cooked. The egg roll wasn’t good. Nothing tasted fresh. It was just a big no for me

The effect
Called to complain about them changing the type of chicken and batter used for the sesame chicken. Guy I was talking to claimed they changed it 8 years ago, which is ABSOLUTELY FALSE!! Either way, I was in the middle of telling him it tasted horrible and not the same flavor with them using the chicken they use for sweet and sour then just throwing the sesame sauce on it and he HUNG UP ON ME!! DONE patronizing this place! Rude!

I had not been to Red Ruby Chinese since 2012! It was decent Chinese food from what I remember so I decided to give it a another shot. Honestly, I don’t consider Chinese food to be very flavorful but when you have a craving for something you get it. I had put in my order before I read all the recent 1-2 ⭐ negative reviews from other customers, most were repeated customers. After getting home and placing my food in storage containers and eating it a couple of hours later it was about what I remembered. I would definitely but it again.

I was up at Red Ruby 05/09/2025. When im up here I usually get Sweet+Sour Chicken with Rice. I would say the food is good but not great as it used to be. Service was quick and I was in and out in maybe less than 10-15 mins. I do miss being able to sit down and relax. On a personal note a shout out to the Lee Family and some of the working staff members who worked for them which I went to grade school and high school with!!)

Red Ruby used to be the go to. They used to have the best sesame chicken I ever tasted. It seems they have changed the chicken and sauce. It’s not good at all anymore. Sadly, I no longer eat there. The food has gone downhill pretty bad.

Worst orange chicken I’ve ever had. It’s supposed to have a spicy orange taste. It’s nothing but an orange colored sauce that resembles “sweet and sour sauce.” The chicken is thickly battered. Omg. If I could give zero stars, it would be zero. And the spring roll is so greasy.

I had an incredible experience here! The food was bursting with flavor, portions were generous, and the ambiance was warm and inviting. Our server was attentive without being intrusive. Definitely a spot worth visiting.

This is just half of the portion size u get from red ruby! I have been going here for close to 13 years .. since i was a kid. The old man who owns the store you will see him occasionally now when he worked here every time it was wonderful. Food was always good never bad . Untill he stopped being their as much and his kids took over. Food went down. It is still wonderful although some times are hit and miss . Dont eat here one time and judge eat here a few times to really judge . Over all its a great whole in the wall .
