The food was genuinely impressive. Everything I tried was fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavor—definitely above what you might expect from a tavern. It’s the kind of food that pairs perfectly with a cold drink and good company, and you can tell they take pride in what they serve.
Speaking of drinks, the prices are incredibly low, especially compared to other bars in the area. It’s refreshing to find a place where you can enjoy quality drinks without feeling like you’re overspending. Whether you’re grabbing a beer or a mixed drink, the value here is hard to beat.
The atmosphere really ties it all together. The crowd was very diverse in age, which added to the relaxed and inclusive vibe. Everyone seemed to be there for the same reason—to unwind, have fun, and enjoy themselves. It never felt cliquey or uncomfortable, just easygoing and friendly.
The bartenders deserve special recognition. They were extremely attentive, kind, and quick, even when things got busier. They made sure everyone felt taken care of and did it all with a great attitude, which makes a huge difference in the overall experience.
I went on a Friday night, and karaoke started at 9 PM, which was a blast. It brought great energy into the place and gave everyone a chance to join in or just enjoy the entertainment. It added an extra layer of fun to an already great night.
Overall, Leroy’s Tavern delivers on all fronts—great food, very affordable drinks, an awesome atmosphere, and outstanding service. I’ll definitely be back and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, no-frills spot with a lot of character.
Our last visit was right after an IU football game, evidenced by some empty parking spots and empty beer buckets here and there. Staff was busy but no problem, I went up the bar to get drinks and menus, then returned to order food. What to get here? The pizza of course and it came out in short order, hot and yummy.
As my wife and I age we prefer to avoid party crowds so I recommend week-day evening visits or Saturday afternoons.
Come on down.
Liked the pizza a lot and looking forward to returning to try other menu items. TVs have sports on and the atmosphere is comfortable. Recommend getting the largest pizza so you can take some home.
Schools hand out bigger portions. Tots were nasty/chilli is junk, grilled cheese wasn’t melted all the way and bread nasty. Tenderloin was small. The fries came as we were leaving.
Throw a dart at a map and you will be happier for sure. VERY over priced!
