Plus knowing my dollar goes to a good cause was the cherry on top of an already great experience!
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and you can really feel the heart behind this place. We loved learning the backstory — it makes supporting this restaurant even more special. Great food, great service, great vibes. We’ll definitely be back!
We shared the black bean soup, Cuban sandwich, and a chorizo-and-cheese empanada — everything was delicious, comforting, and full of flavor. The staff could not have been warmer or more welcoming. Dan Flores was especially friendly and made us feel right at home.
They kindly gave us a 10% student discount for our Holy Cross student and even surprised us with a cream cheese and guava pastry that was perfectly balanced and paired beautifully with the coffee and steamed milk. We loved it so much we ordered extra empanadas and dessert to bring back to our son and his roommate.
Learning about Café Reyes’ nonprofit mission and community impact made the experience even more meaningful. Wonderful food, wonderful people, wonderful purpose — can’t wait to return. ❤️
I went back because I had a great experience the first time around. Something has happened to this place since then. Service is abysmal.
They gave us cold coffee. Not a big deal, asked them to reheat coffee. He forgot about it and we had to ask again. He went to reheat coffee and forgot mine (I went with 3 other ppl). Had to ask for my coffee.
They gave us 2 glasses of water for 4 people. Not sure what’s happening here. They never checked up on us for anything. No hot sauce, butter, jam or anything. I could’ve sworn they had this a month ago.
We got 2 build our omelettes. The differentiating factor between our omelettes was cheese. One had cheese and one didn’t. We wanted chicken in both. The food comes and the server said that one has chicken and the other doesn’t. We tried confirming with him that one has cheese and the other shouldn’t. He just said that he doesn’t know cuz he didn’t take the order (different person took the order).
They also changed toasts. Now you get cake rusk from the looks of it and not actual toasts.
# Review 1 (sometime late Jan 2025) (5 stars)
Very cozy spot for brunch.
Went around 2pm on Friday and got their omelette with all veggies and a sandwich (I forgot which). Both were delicious and generous portion sizes.
Coffee was delicious.
After Memorial Day, 2025: New outdoor terrace seating in back of the restaurant with handicap ramp.
Welcoming staff. Gave me a table where there wasn’t any heating vents.
Not enough parking.
Have I said I absolutely loved the Cuban sandwich!!! Yes. Try that. Filling.
Next time I’ll just take out.
