Here you are finishing a nice tour of the caverns and ready for a nice meal at the “cafe & restaurant.” You crane your neck to look at the menu and all seems well and good with reasonable prices. Buyer beware! The pictures you see following this review may be disturbing for some, viewer discretion is advised. As I finished my payment, I immediately see the clerk take two extremely small round pre packaged Jimmy Dean bacon, egg, and cheese on a biscuit and get placed in a microwave powerful enough for industrial use. After opening the package there’s about 1/2 an egg cemented with what appears to be yellow plastic cheese and a round piece of what they call bacon. I feel bamboozled and quite disappointed. Two coffees, two so called bacon egg and cheeses, one muffin and a danish was not worth the 23+ dollars. One star for the very kind service from the lady behind the counter. Minus four stars for having less than comparable food to seven eleven.

I will let the pictures tell the rest of the tale…

Ps… coffee tastes like water flavored with coffee. I would rather drink the water from the dream lake inside the cavern.

Found a quaint coffee place called Broad Porch. It’s located a little further away if you want quality food & coffee for two people under $20 see last few photos.

Not the best place in Luray but does the job if you want have quick bite after the tour. We tried their chicken and cheese sandwiches along with fries. It was ok. Service is quick and the place is clean.

Meh… This was recommended by an employee of Luray as “the place to go”. It was sub-par at best. Prices aren’t horrible, except for beverages, but I’d suggest leaving the complex and finding real food. Service is slow and food arrives cold. There is no real accounting for who’s grabbing what, so some other guy went for a walk with my tray before I even got it. Cheeseburger was very well done, but still cold by the time it was served. Chicken sandwich was talked up at the counter, but it’s just a low quality chicken patty that is by percentage probably just enough chicken to call it chicken. Fries were tolerable. All in all, I wouldn’t eat here again.

The chicken salad sandwich was sweeter than honey! The bread was stale too. Maybe get the cheeseburger? It was edible

As others have mentioned, it’s mediocre food with a limited selection that is way overpriced. Good for a snack or if you need a convenient meal, but there are much better places to eat in Loray.

Note: If you stay at the Loray Cavern Motel, you get a 20% of coupon for food or the gift shop.

Everything about my trip to luray cavern was excellent except for this food. The prices are outrageous for what you get and the food is terrible. I was hesitant to pay 9 dollars for a kids hot dog meal but I didn’t want my kiddos to go hungry while we did the maze and ropes. I paid for the expensive hot dogs, and my kids wouldn’t touch them; they were old and wrinkly. The fries were a little soggy, and they were given little hugs to drink. For 9 dollars, they should have at least given them organic apple juice boxes and fresh hot dogs. The cavern was well worth the drive, but if I go again, we will be bringing a picnic lunch instead.

Do not get the Fish Sandwich. It will take 20+ minutes. Wanted a quick bite to eat. It was not quick. I would have gotten a cold sandwich had I known. I repeat avoid the fish sandwich.

Absolutely horrible BBQ, tasted like vegetable soup mix combined with pork. I’m guessing a stalactite would taste better than this slop. Waste of $7 and Luray Caverns should be ashmed to have this below-mid, overpriced greasy spoon on its premises.
