Reviews
Cons: The food was mostly premade stuff, and under seasoned. There’s definitely a lack of love in the food preparation. The cost is not reflected in quality. I was surprised because there were a lot of good reviews, maybe those are left by people who had a few drinks before eating their food.
In all seriousness I do think it’s a bit of a money grab. It was relatively empty when we went, maybe because it’s the off season and the locals know that it’s just not worth the prices they charge.
My husband ordered a typical burger, which he said was pretty good. Not as good as Five Guys but good.
I ordered the Nashville Chicken Sandwich. It was a mess. The chicken was pounded paper thin so it tasted more like fried breading than chicken. The sauce was just poured on top and I’m pretty sure it was just Franks and a squirt of honey. No love or thought of presentation other than a gimmicky brand on the top bun. Which is cute, but unfortunately can’t impart any flavor.
My son ordered the steak and cheese sandwich. It looked and tasted like unseasoned ground beef. He took a few bites and then gave up due to it not tasting like anything as well as being greasy. He’s not even picky. He’s a typical boy with a huge appetite.
My daughter ordered the kid’s pasta with a meatball. The sauce tasted suspiciously like prego and the meatballs tasted like cafeteria meatloaf.
My toddler couldn’t eat the over fried (clearly from frozen) chicken tenders.
I normally wouldn’t be so harsh but at 13 dollars per kid meal you kind of expect some level of quality.
If barely adequate food at exorbitant prices is your thing then this place probably wouldn’t bother you. However, if you value your money I’d keep looking. I hate leaving negative reviews, but I also hate people spending large amounts on overpriced products.
Comment to owner’s response:
There definitely is an extra charge if you pay with your credit card, although you try to tell customers “you get a discount if you pay with cash”. The food is over priced for the quality. I would rather pay full menu price for wings to be cooked properly instead of over cooked dried out.
TBH a real professional/owner response to a customer review should have been: Sorry to hear about your experience, give us another chance come on in and we’ll make things right and hopefully change your mind.
I hope that clears things up. Have a wonderful day.
the food was good .
The space was very nice .
The service was great .
The wings were really good . Cooked on point ..
but the sauces . So good .
I got the wings dry and all (3) sauces they offered on the side ..
all (3) were very good ..
the calamari was cooked on point ..
I like that the breading wasn’t a crisp . The sauces and peppers added a nice kick ..
they had a large selection of draft beers . Nice to see they had multiple Cape May IPAs amongst others ..
I would definitely recommend this place .
Im sure they get very busy during the summer being where they are but I see why …
