Just tried this pure veg authentic south indian restaurant in Oakville and I’m genuinely obsessed!
The sambar was the highlight — not the usual watery/spicy kind, but rich, thick, authentic and full of flavor.
Even their kids’ dosa meals were so cute — choice of cheese/plain/chocolate with fries, chutneys, mini idlis + sambar. Loved how fresh everything tasted, especially the chutneys.
Ambience was super welcoming and overall such a lovely authentic experience.
Highly recommend for anyone craving real South Indian flavors:)

We ordered seven varieties of rice along with idly, vada, sambar, two types of chutney, tea, and rose milk for our baby shower function.
Every single item was absolutely delicious and truly captured the soulful taste of authentic South Indian cuisine.
The chef, Mr. Ibrahim, provided exceptional service—his generosity and enthusiasm were truly fantastic and greatly appreciated.
The pricing was very affordable compared to other catering services, especially considering the excellent quality of the food.
Additionally, the delivery was perfectly on time, exactly as promised.

Carnatic Cafe, located in the heart of Uptown Core Oakville, is serving up truly amazing and authentic South Indian food. This was my fourth visit, and I keep coming back for the incredible flavors!
Beyond the food, the service is outstanding. The staff is consistently friendly, and the shop is spotlessly clean. A huge thank you to Vijeesh and Cennette this time around they made the experience not only truly memorable but, also allowed us to take our time despite sitting after close.
If you want top tier authentic Indian cuisine with wonderful hospitality, do not, I repeat DO NOT LOOK further, just pay a visit to Carnatic Cafe. Its the place to eat.

visited them for the 1st time to try out the south indian food. they hit all the right marks.
ordered benne dosa with filter coffee combo, veg stew with rice, rasam and set dosa.
their coconut/ white chutney is insanely good.
wanted to have bonda rasam but they were short so changed it to rasam only, flavourful, yumm..benne dosa is served with 3 chutneys (mint -refreshingly good, tomato – naughtily sour and the coconut chutney- saintly creamy good, 2 die for), sambar dàal thick with drumstick..oooh maan… dosas were soft on inside, cripsy on the out….the filter kappi was spot on, order it w/o sugar..oooh ma ma…
service was good, energetic and courteous.food finger licking good, avoid using spoons n fork…smell your fingers on ur way home, while driving, been driven.
the aroma wafting, when one walks in reminded me of geeta bhuvan at Chembur, Mumbai..
Treasure those chefs! don’t loose them.

Next visit I will try their neer dosa… hope it does not disappoint me.

had neer dosa, mini tiffin and filter kaapi, kaapi was super as was the mini tiffin and the neer dosa, Value for money. Cheers!Seems this will become my favorite place for south indian food.
Note: At some places back home, the neer dosas served are soft and very malleable (?), this place they are soft and crispy. So while the texture is different, the taste is still awesome. Enjoy!!

I want to start by saying this is our new favorite south india restaurant in the GTA and we have tried all if them- big and small. Particularly came for the benne dosa and that was epic! Went on to try pretty much all other dosas on my multiple visits and all of them are absolutely spectacular in taste. We are local to oakville and so glad to have this gem in our neighborhood. If you’re contemplating going, you wont regret it one bit! The staff is extremely kind and they take care of your needs and customizations well.

Visited Carnatic Cafe today and was genuinely impressed. I tried the masala dosa, coffee, and gulab jamun, and everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and truly authentic. The dosa was perfectly crisp, the filter coffee had that classic South Indian aroma, and the gulab jamun was warm and delicious without being overly sweet.
The service was friendly and attentive, and the overall atmosphere felt welcoming. It’s really great to finally have an authentic South Indian vegetarian restaurant in Oakville—something the area has been missing for a long time. I’m definitely going back and highly recommend others to try it.
