Social Profile:

The Sour Doe is a café and farm store focused on preparing and selling delicious, healthy food to its customers. We pride ourselves on sourcing our ingredients from local, organic suppliers and farmers as much as possible. In fact, The Sour Doe is partnered with its very own, USDA certified organic vegetable farm only 4 miles down the road. Mutually owned by the founders of The Sour Doe, Fern Co. is an intensive, no-till market garden that grows the vast majority of the produce that will be used at the café. In addition, the café houses a commercial bakery focused on naturally leavened breads and baked goods, always made with 100% organic flour. All of our bread products will be used for our café menu in-house.

Ohhhh man …..I found another great spot for some fresh bread, sandwhiches, coffees and teas. Everything was sooo good. I will definitely go back. The people working there were off the hook smiley, friendly and helpful too. Can’t believe I hadn’t found this place sooner. They have the cutest name and logo but they don’t have a sign out front so it just looks like a cute house, but what a hidden gem inside. Along with the delish breakfast items, sandwhiches and stuff, they also carry some nice organic produce and some local drinks. I found some fresh looking micro greens that I picked up for what I think is a fair price. I’m sure I’m late to the party but if you haven’t had their warm garlic, cheese biscuits yet with whipped butter slathered all over, you gotta try them. Seriously……I’m already planning to go back and I just got home. ❣️❣️❣️

As a woman, new to the celiac world, I’ve been constantly perplexed and annoyed by how little bread I can find to eat. This absolute GEM of a place was not only adorable, but also absolutely delicious!

Sourdough bread is the only bread I can eat with this new-to-me disease. They have sourdough cheddar biscuits!! Then there is their sun-dried tomato Mayo! Oh my goodness! I had the most delicious breakfast sandwich I’ve had in a year.

Thank you!!

I stopped in for the first time today! I ordered a chicken Caesar salad for lunch, and oh my goodness! The flavors of the kale, cheese, homemade Caesar dressing, and sourdough croutons meld together perfectly!

The vegetables are fresh and the bread is good. I also ordered a chicken salad sandwich. The taste was ok, but it was 99% lettuce and bread. There was a razor thin layer of chicken salad. Not sure if there was chicken, because there was such a thin layer you couldn’t tell. For $13, I guess I expected a decent portion of chicken salad with chunks of chicken…

Want to complain about the price but the sandwich was so good and I know I’d pay it again lol Excited to have a casual breakfast & lunch place in town.

Really good breakfast options, high price due to local sourcing so I wouldn’t buy too often. Breakfast burritos were amazing but they no longer offer them. Please bring them back!

Rustic Sourdough bread is very good with honey and butter and doesn’t seem to trigger my gut issues like “normal” american bread. Wish I had more free time to help out local farms and businesses like them.

I was visiting family in Stevensville, and the Sourdoe became a regular stop for me & my fam. The lattes are made with good quality dairy which usually would hurt my stomach but was oh so delicious! The Ramen Special was everything I needed on a cold snowy day. & Don’t even get me started with how good the bread is! I could eat an English muffin with butter for breakfast everyday!! Thank you Kristin for the amazing service everyday we were in! Definitely will be excited to come to the Sourdoe when I visit again. 🙂

I have been to The Sour Doe multiple times for lunch and it is delicious every time. I typically don’t like to eat out in town for lunch because there aren’t a lot of healthy or fresh options. Now that The Sour Doe is here, they are the ONLY place I will go to lunch. Sometimes you feel like you have to sacrifice flavor for healthy items but not here – everything I have ordered has been perfection! An added bonus is I get to shop for fresh veggies and sourdough breads while I am there! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Stopped in for a breakfast sandwich (everything bagel with egg, cheese and sausage) and was not disappointed! Really flavorful and delicious. Sat out on the patio and finished just as a thunderstorm rolled in. The lunch menu looked great too. I’ll definitely be back!

The menu is limited but the flavor is phenominal. . Best sour dough muffins and bread in the Bitterroot. They make an egg sandwich that is out of this world. Best sandwiches around- I highly recommend the Sour Doe!
