I tried this place for the first time and I was not very happy with how we were welcomed. The person that seated us was not welcoming at all as if he was forced to be there. That’s the first impression of the place and it was not a very good one.
The server however was very nice. She was kind and kept checking up on us and brought everything we’ve asked for. The food was good overall, not over the top. I’ve tried other sushi places and I’d say this one is just average. The tempura shrimp and veggies were really good and the sushi was okay too. Kimchi was not good at all, it had a weird taste. I would generally recommend if you’re going for sushi as it’s light and the fish is pretty fresh.

The most creative Japanese style cuisine. The food is great. The restrooms are very clean. The owner is friendly and came to our table to discuss our choices. He shared with us how some items were created and good sake to pair. We ordered the Chef’s Surprise for lunch. When we took another person back for dinner a week later we wanted that again but it was a lunch special. We ordered something, don’t remember the name but it translates into: “I trust you” and really you have no idea what you’re going to get so it is comparable to Chef’s Surprise. Still incredibly delicious. The Chef’s Surprise was $19 for lunch and the “I Trust You” was $35. It was available for higher dollar amounts and we were told the more expensive included more premium cuts and items. Took pics of the appetizers and entrees. Prepare for a deluge.

The food was amazing. The only thing keeping me from giving this place five stars is the fact that I had takeout and did not eat inside the establishment. I would recommend this place if you are looking for sushi in Ann arbor or just need a nice place to sit down and have a meal.

Good spot for a quick Japanese in Ann Arbour. Our server, Quinn, was amazing. He was so attentive and prompt. We had the shrimp tempura with vegetables which was very nice. Yellow tail ponzu was not the best. The salad and miso starters were very good. The chicken in the bento box was very dry. The beef noodles was good. Chicken yakitori was ok.

Overall, this was a good restaurant! Lots of sushi options. The ramen was good, but didn’t really pack a lot of flavor. We added Chilli oil to it to help.

Beautiful Japanese style decor. Enjoyed our included miss soup and salad. The seaweed salad was the tastiest I’ve had. The sushi rolls were beautiful prepared . I recommend the Eskimo! ( my appologies..the food was so inviting I started eating b4 the pic)

Miki is a great Japanese restaurant. You can park right outside (street parking or parking lot) and enjoy a variety of sushi as well as other Japanese dishes. I never had anything that wasn’t good.
Keep up the good work, Miki.

Very nice presentation, generous portion, and a wide variety of food options (you don’t usually find uni or aburi sushi in Ann Arbor). The rolls are a bit too creamy for me but I could taste the different layers of flavors and textures. Will definitely come back

Delicious and fresh sushi rolls! They have a huge menu to choose from. The atmosphere is perfect for date night and you get away from the business downtown. The wasabi martini is unique and a must try!

Our waitress was so sweet I apologize for not remembering her name. I tried the Dragon Roll, Special California and Boston Baked roll and they were all phenomenal. Everything tasted very fresh. The environment of the place was cozy but fancy at the same time it made for a great date night.
The only criticism that I would have is that I was placed at a table which you face out to a table across from you with no way to scoot down and face the person im actually eating with and it was a little awkward.
I’d definitely recommend Miki if you’re in the area!
