At our Huntington, WV location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

We placed an online order, once home half our order was incorrect. We called and was told to come back and get the correct order. Once I arrived, I had to wait twenty minutes and they had to remake it, and if I wanted a refund, I had to call corporate to get it. What? Why? The manager had a nasty attitude and was very unprofessional. She doesn’t need to work in this field if she’s gonna treat customers the way she did. It was their fault for the mistake, so she should have been apologetic, instead of being rude and disrespectful. And the way she handed me the bag, wow, she practically threw it at me! I won’t return. You’ve lost our business!!

I used the drive thru this evening and the wait was so long that 3 other cars left before ordering and 2 different people pulled out of the drive thru line, parked, went in and within 2 minutes came back out and left !!
I patiently waited in line to order in 100 degree weather, but was very disappointed in my meal which was the 4 piece fish dinner. The fish batter tasted like it had been cooked in burnt grease and the taste and odor seeped into the slaw which also made that impossible to eat. I’ve also noticed that the size and quality of the fish isn’t near what it has been in the past. So basically, I paid for and only got to eat 4 small pieces of fish without the batter after stripping it off. It has been a while since I ate Captain D’s due to the decline in their food, and after today, I’m sorry to say, it will most likely be quite a while before I return.

I have never had a problem with an order from this location. I always get the grilled whitefish and have to wait a bit longer, but I know it’s prepared fresh for me. Food is good quality for this type of chain restaurant. Staff are always friendly.
