Service was excellent, our waitress- Kaylee (spelling might be wrong) was very polite and nice so shout out to her! Food was delicious, cooked correctly, fresh, I really have no complaints. I accidentally left my credit card there and when I called to inquire Kaylee answered the phone and was willing to hang on to it for me even though they were closed, and allow me to pick it up bc she knew I had a flight to catch the next day. She is such a sweetheart. 10/10!!

The sushi spot is our go to sushi spot some of our favorites include the dragonfly roll. The Trinidad roll and the Summer in the city roll. If you haven’t tried them, do yourself a favor and calling in your order. Expect about a 45 minute wait time for to go, but that’s typical.

It pains me to leave this review. We’ve been coming here for many years. I’ve even fixed their front entrance door. I’ve seen them go through staff and I’ve seen their prices increase. All of that is normal for the restaurant business. But last night was the last time we will ever eat here. The food was great, don’t get me wrong. But the portion was half the size as normal. The service was awful as well. There were two servers and even though there was only one other customer our server was out back smoking crack or something. To pay this kind of money only to leave hungry is very disappointing, especially when you’re poor and eating here was supposed to be a special occasion. Sometimes you just know when a place has had their run and this place is obviously at the end of their run. Very disappointing. Go to Tomo’s. They give you plenty of food that’s consistent with good table service.

I visited here from Tokyo for couple times and their customer services and the atmosphere never betrayed my expectation! The best casual sushi restaurant with the quality of the fish and Shari the rice, all the rolls and shooters are way better and totally acceptable for me even I know the tastes from local sushi places in japan. The one and only place I wanted to come back for my every visits in the Humboldt!

I was really excited to try sushi stop. Especially after I’d seen so many good reviews. It was New Year’s Eve and it was my fiance’s first time actually having decent sushi. So I was really excited to try some with him. We were told that our order would be ready in an hour and a half, and to pick it up right before they were about to close. We ordered a couple sushi rolls and some vegetable tempura. To our disappointment, the tempura was a small amount for the price and the vegetables were in a greasy box, literally sitting on a greasy doily in a pile of grease. Everything tasted old and greasy. A total of $50.00 this cost, the salmon in the sushi tasted very fishy, and it overpowered everything else. It was terrible. I apologize to my fiance and said well, we’ll just take pictures and report this to the manager tomorrow and ask for our money back. Later on that night, I ended up getting a stomach ache from the fish.
The next day, he went in to ask for our money back and the manager at the McKinleyville store said she wasn’t going to give us our money back. She said that we should have brought the food in that night and we explained to her that they were already closed. He showed her the images, then asked if he could speak to her manager try to resolve this issue and the manager refused to give him a phone number, or any information as to who the owner was or who her supervisor is.
I have worked in and as a manager in food service for over 20 years, and I cannot imagine ever telling an upset customer that they cannot speak to my boss. To me that’s just insane. It’s one thing to get bad food, but to refuse to resolve the issue or give any information as to who you can contact further, is downright unprofessional and rude. I refuse to ever eat at any sushi stop after this experience.

First time here and let’s say I’m disappointed. Sushi was literally burnt (that’s a first for me) and the vegetable tempura was… not what I was expecting. So for $64 we got 4 rolls. 2 were burnt to the point you could taste the char,
