This little glassy bright restaurant Som Bo is one of my only true favorites left in New York. Asian-inspired protein bowl menu. Surprisingly good prices and not oily crap. Freshly cut steak bowl with two sides and rice only $15.50. Prices are such that they end up even with tax. Water available and plenty of seating. They have a delightful tomato-egg side dish and all the veggies are good. Not trying too hard. This was a favorite during Covid for me also. I hope it’ll stay in business. It’s a one-off.

Wide V and GF selection. Fresh and tasty. Nice atmosphere. You build you meal, first select a base, then two additions, main course and toppings as you convenienty move between stations. Selections are conveniently displayed at each and every station clearly marked as V or GF or none. The end result is nice.

Wow! I can’t believe how delicious this was, and how reasonably priced for the quality! I got the miso salmon with szechuan cucumbers and edamame slaw, everything was so tasty! The sauces as well. This place is truly delicious.

This is my first time there. I had the noodles with the rice and chicken. That sauce! Wow! It was really flavourful … I will say, it is scrumptious to say the least. Cooked to perfection and fresh. Customer service was awesome .The woman behind the counter answered to all of my questions, what was the most popular and also suggested what to try. She gave me plenty and my belly was full. I look forward to going there this week.. I work right up the street.

I usually don’t review takeout orders, but this was pretty bad. They crammed my double protein and extra side order into a normal side container, so it was spilling all over the place when it arrived. The food had very little flavor and the chicken was undercooked to the point of being pink. Will not be returning. This is the ultimate slop bowl – just a ton of ingredients thrown together with little care or thought.

I was in Manhattan on a short schedule, and wanted something better than train station fare or street vendors, but without spending a lot of money. The bowl was a great deal: plenty to eat, and every part delicious: grilled chicken, brussels sprouts, roasted corn, and rice.

Not bad! For the price the bowl and the portions are generous. The selection of items is also diverse and offers option for everyone. Admittedly, the food is only mediocre and the service is a touch below that, but for what you are paying this place is worth the price. Not everything needs to be a crazy culinary experience, sometimes you just need some veggies and beef that’s already cooked and ready!
This place would DRASTICALLY improve with a focus on not over prepping the food— it can be inconsistent and is blatantly obvious when you’re getting the fresh stuff or the stuff that’s been sitting out all day. That, and a little reminder on hospitality, no one’s rude but they definitely aren’t excited to have people walking in the door.

Stopped by to grab dinner to go. I got half black rice/half sweet potato noodles, beets, cucumbers and grilled lemongrass chicken. The warm sides didn’t look that fresh or appetizing so decided to get two cold sides. I also got the edamame hummus with wonton chips. But everything just tasted greasy and lacked flavor (aside from the chicken), even the two sauces that you can pick were so oily.

Almost closing time, 945pm on a Sunday night and wanted a light snack in NYC. Came upon this nondescript place on a corner in Chelsea and was pleasantly surprised.
Asian-ish, well prepared vegetable sides with very good grilled protein that may have been flank steak.
Very flavorful, fresh, crisp vegetables, steak medium, not tough, but toothsome. All preparations were well seasoned.
Carlos, behind the counter was professional and courteous, asking if we had any food allergies. Wow, the new New York City, this could work.
