The one thing I did see is not one person with a hair net. Some of them were grabbing there hair and playing with it and then messing with the pizza. Also not one person wearing gloves that are dealing with any of the food.
Even ordering a fresh pizza still didnt taste fresh. Taste like the pizza dough is old.
Yeah wont be back to this location I would drive to another one in another town if I want cici.
Only things I wished they had was spring mix lettuce (or spinach) along with the iceberg lettuce, a bigger salad bar in general, and the pizzas cut into smaller slices (I just wanted a little bit of this and that). But all in all, good! I’m sure I’ll be back.
Edit- Hey they had spinach this time, yay! But no broccoli, sigh. But they do seem to vary their salad bar a little each time, which is nice. And perhaps when they don’t have an item I could ask for it.
First, the employees didn’t greet us at all. Instead, they just stared at us like we were inconveniencing them by showing up. Customer service or training clearly isn’t a priority here.
The buffet was extremely disappointing. There were barely any pizzas available, and the few that were out were unappetizing combinations like BBQ pizza and ranch pizza. For a pizza buffet, the lack of normal, basic options was ridiculous. Nothing looked fresh or worth eating. It looked like it had been sitting out for hours. Empty pizza trays covered the buffet line rather than fresh pizza options. There didn’t seem to be a staffing issue because there were at least 6 employees standing there dweedling their thumbs.
On top of that, the fountain drink machine was broken. Instead of fixing the issue or offering a reasonable alternative, they were handing out tiny 12 oz cans of soda, which is not what you expect when you’re paying for a buffet experience.
The worst part was the dining area. It was filthy. Tables were covered in stacks of dirty plates and food, and no one was cleaning anything. Those dishes sat there the entire time we were there. It made the whole restaurant feel unsanitary and neglected. In addition to the lack of hair nets and gloves used by the staff. However, I will add that once I started taking photos of the filth left on the tables for this review, someone suddenly started to clean.
This location seriously needs better management, better service, and basic cleanliness standards. Right now it feels like no one there cares about the customers or the condition of the restaurant. But at the very least, the salad bar was stocked and kind of clean. There is an overpriced arcade with games that will peak the interests of children 8 or younger.
Now the pizza, ALL you could tell had been out for a while. And they only had the variety pizza and one pepperoni pizza. My husband served himself from various styles and he said all of them were cold. And the crust was not the same, as if the pizza was not cooked thoroughly. Only way we got hit pizza was by ordering it.
The dessert, brownies were Completely dry. Usually they’re moist at other locations. Not these, I had to drink my water to help it go down because it was so dry. The cinnamon rolls were ok but again we’re not hot.
Customer service was decent, but for this to be a somewhat new location in disappointed. I was so excited to have a closer cicis but I’d rather make the drive to Mesquite or terrell at this point
FIRST AND LAST VISIT. HOPE EVERYONE ELSE HAS BETTER EXPERIENCE.
When I said something about it to manager..he shrugged his shoulder n said ” why didn’t you just grab another plate?” Well, I already had waited to get a hamburger pizza made because most of pizza had been out for a while I guess that’s why it was hard. Idk. But as a manager he could have been a little more apologetic, I didn’t want a refund, I just wanted them to be aware of how bad my visit was.
Right off the bat, we didn’t receive the usual “Welcome to CiCi’s” greeting when we walked in, which was a little surprising for a brand that’s typically very friendly. When ordering drinks, I was charged extra for a larger to-go cup without being asked. I was told, “We charge everyone more for the bigger to-go unless they specifically ask for the other cup,” which honestly didn’t sit right — that’s not really how that should work.
On the positive side, the buffet line was extremely full, and the employees working behind the line were attentive, helpful, and kept things moving. The kids’ modern play area looked really cool and is definitely a nice upgrade.
The biggest downside for us — and something my husband, myself, and others noticed — is how crowded the dining area feels. There are way too many tables, making it a near-impossible maze just to get to your seat. I understand wanting to maximize space and profit, but removing even a handful of tables would make the experience so much more comfortable for everyone.
As for the food, the pizza was hot and the desserts were good as always, with the exception of the usually perfect brownie. This time it had little to no powdered sugar and just wasn’t quite the same.
Lastly, we also didn’t receive the usual “thank you” as we were leaving, which may seem small, but those little touches really matter when it comes to customer experience.
Overall, there’s a lot of potential here, especially with the staff behind the buffet and the updated play area. With a few adjustments to spacing, communication at the register, and consistency, this location could be much better.
