TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

What really made our visit stand out, though, was the customer service. Max V., the cashier, was absolutely wonderful. He was friendly, patient, and genuinely welcoming, making sure we felt taken care of from the start. You can tell he takes pride in his job and enjoys interacting with customers, which makes a big difference.
Overall, great food, an eye catching atmosphere, and top-tier service. Dave’s Hot Chicken definitely delivers, and employees like Max V. are a huge reason why we’ll be back again soon. Highly recommend checking this place out!
If you like Nashville-style hot chicken, this spot is definitely worth checking out. I’ve only tried the regular hot so far, but it’s been more than hot enough and full of flavor.
Sorry I forgot to take a picture before digging in — the only good pic I have has a couple bite marks already
Solid food, friendly staff, and a good overall experience. I’ll definitely be back.
The fries are seasoned but under-salted and they don’t have salt in the store so I don’t bother getting fries any more at all. They were also a bit undercooked the one time I got them.
The chicken tenders are huge, so I’m not sure why they market their sandwiches as sliders. The value for what you get it comparable to anywhere else, but calling them sliders makes them sound expensive. Whatever, they seem to be doing fine and I love their chicken.
The chicken was very spicy in a good way.
The fries were hot and perfectly seasoned.
Let me just say…it is now my favorite chicken sandwich BY FAR.
I got the “mild,” which was just the right spice for me. I recommend trying it with a drizzling of honey. The combination of bread, chicken, dave’s sauce, honey, and the “kale” slaw is the perfect balance. Just the word “kale” turned me off from trying it until now. But don’t worry, you never taste the kale. And the slaw is the right balance of cool for the heat of the chicken, and sweet of the honey. And the Dave’s sauce is a great at brigning it all together.
The slider by itself was all I needed for lunch. And at roughly the same price for that as a single whataburger (about $7), I will be getting a Dave’s slider much more often now.
Q: What can I say about eating at Dave’s Hot Chicken in Kennesaw?
A: “It’s my pleasure!”
