From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed. I had the chance to meet the owner, and she was so sweet and attentive… it really made the experience special. The chicken hibachi lunch was flavorful, fresh, and generously portioned. You can tell they care about quality. The environment was peaceful and inviting, making it a perfect place to unwind and enjoy a great meal. I got my food to go because it was my lunch break but next time I want to take my time and enjoy the atmosphere. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

The staff were SO nice! It was the day before our big snow storm when I stopped in, I always try the new sushi spots in the area as I love sushi, and immediately the woman who sat me brought me hot green tea to warm up and didn’t even charge me. I got the kani salad, agedashi tofu, and salmon don.
The kani salad was delicious, I loved the breadcrumbs. The agedashi tofu was amazing, I LOVE agedashi tofu after trying it at another sushi place so I’m always happy when a new place serves it since most don’t. The salmon for the don was very tender, a little cold but that may be due to the weather, not fishy at all.
I love that they use furikake on their rice, its so good. At the end of the meal I had some salmon and tofu left and the staff member bagged it all up for me, making sure to give me extra sauce for both it was so nice and thoughtful.
If I had one criticism, there’s no sign telling you where the entrance is and the building has 2 visible entrances, turns out the actual entrance is a hidden one on the left side when you’re facing the building. I’d suggest just adding a sign to the front to point to where the door is, as I walked around the entire building before finding it and it was very cold.
The food and staff are amazing and prices are pretty good, the salmon don only being $21 for 10 pieces of salmon sashimi and rice and you got miso soup and a ginger salad (both of which were very good) with it
Definitely coming back to try more rolls and for the tofu!

The food was amazingly fresh, great variety. Served fast! Even an unexpected special dessert prize at the end. The staff was super friendly and the price point is perfect. Will be coming again for sure!

My boyfriend and I ate here last night for the first time, the food was amazing! We got an avocado roll, shrimp Tempura Roll, spicy tuna, and godzilla roll. It was so fresh and flavorful! We also ordered their hibachi rice, chicken, and vegetables. We also got their cheese Wontons. Everything was 10/10, the staff was so sweet and made sure we had everything we needed. Definitely recommend!

Honestly really happy with our experience at Sakura. We arrived and the waitress immediately brought complimentary tea to our table, mentioning how she hoped it would warm us up being the dead of winter. The offering of tea wasn’t unusual for a Japanese restaurant, but the urgency and service felt special, with the latter remaining great throughout our time there.
While the food itself was maybe a 4/5, everything we ordered, from sushi to hibachi, was all very good across the board, nothing was lacking. I can vouch that the medium rare steak hibachi was cooked perfectly and was maybe the highlight of the night. The prices are also very reasonable for the portions and quality you are getting.
Overall worth making a stop in!

We’ve been waiting for opening day and we’re not disappointed. Very fresh and tasty. We had Japanese Shumai, spicy crab roll, and two special rolls: Somerdale (shrimp, avocado, spicy crab, mango w/ soy paper – yum & huge!) and Shady Katie (crispy spicy, avocado, and fresh salmon). Both very good.
Presentation was nice, all being served on an oversized platter making sharing natural & easy. Plenty of wasabi & ginger to go around.
Staff is friendly and happy to see guests. Can’t wait to go back and try more. We just started with the rolls that were an homage to the locale. Getting hungry just thinking about them. 🙂

Hands down the best sushi in the area! I used to go to the Oaklyn location, so I’m really happy to have one closer to me now in Somerdale. The restaurant is very spacious, the customer service is excellent, and the overall experience is always pleasant. I highly recommend it. The noodles and fried rice are also must-tries—they’re definitely on my regular order list!

Honestly I came early to avoid people and it was perfect and peaceful, the waitress was so kind and sweet, there was a hair in my sweet potato roll and they handled it swiftly, maturely, and so so so sweetly, I intend to go back, and the salmon is nice and almost buttery, and so smooth I loved my food so much! And the music was calm and peaceful, as well as the tea!!
