2nd time this month to Aroy Thai lol. It was so good the first time so I came back with more friends to try out more dishes. Really enjoyed the boat noodles, sticky rice with crispy beef, pumpkin curry (super hood for for fall!), and as always the banana sticky rice. Food is impressive as always with not long of a waiting time given how busy they were on a Saturday night. Service is as friendly as usual. Again a must have for Thai!!

A cozy cash-only Thai spot located near Lincoln Square. Service was quick and friendly. The boat noodles were comforting overall, although the broth leaned a bit sweeter than expected and the rice noodles were a tad too soft.

We ordered most of the recommended Thai dishes with maximum spicy (of course, we are Thai!) and were never disappointed. You can enjoy one of the authentic Thai food at Aroy Thai (Aroy means delicious). If you want some Thai energy and savory nourishment in Chicago, make Aroy Thai one of your destinations.
However, this place accepts CASH ONLY, but they have an ATM inside. Enjoy!!

★★★★☆ | Aroy Thai – Delicious, Affordable, and Worth a Visit
Aroy Thai is definitely a spot to keep in your rotation! It’s a casual, no-frills place with an almost overwhelming number of menu options, but the prices are surprisingly lower than most Thai restaurants—definitely a welcome surprise. Just a heads-up: it’s cash-only, and yes, they do make sure to charge you tax.
Service was friendly and efficient, and our food came out quickly. We started with the fried gyoza and shumai—both excellent. The wonton soup was also a standout. The real winner for me, though, was the brunch item: sliced fried pork with Thai herbs over rice, served with two sunny-side-up eggs and a sweet chili dipping sauce. I’d come back just for that! The pad Thai was solid, but not mind-blowing.
Overall, great prices, a convenient location, fast service, and tasty food—what more could you ask for? It’s not a five-star, life-changing experience, but it’s absolutely worth a visit (or a few).

We are Thai and we love eating here. One of the best Thai restaurants we ever had outside the US. The staffs are also very friendly and kind. Thank you for making our evening so great. Def recommend this place to others.

It’s all about consistency. Spicy Tee has been holding it down for 20+ years, carrying on the family legacy. Simple flavors, bold (spicy) taste, and amazing service—every time. Oh, and it’s BYOB. Must-try: Sticky Rice Pad Jaew, Basil Duck, and Sai Ua.

During my time at Aroy Thai, I experienced true Thai hospitality. The first time I met Spicy Tee, I could tell—he’s exactly where he’s meant to be. His energy is contagious, and the food? Next level—his mom is the head chef. ❤️

I’ve been here twice now and I am always happy with my meal. The staff is always friendly and the food is good. Last time the Pad Prik King was great and extra spicy . This time I have to recommend the spicy sausage. It was so good I forget what my main dish was. It is made in house and a perfect mix of herbs and spices. The Best in Chicago IMO. Again my wife was happy with her dish off the Thai menu (written in Thai for Thai, lol).

Delivery ended up taking 90 minutes on a Wednesday. I ordered the Kow Soy (my Thai barometer) which came in two boxes. A couple minutes later after assembly, I took my first bite and was immediately impressed. The curry was still warm and had that peanut flavor I was craving. A good amount of chicken dispersed throughout too. Lastly, soft egg noodles that soaked up the curry and then plenty of onions, cilantro, and crispy noodles on top. Loved the overall taste and they even gave me some more spice on the side per my request.

Cash only! We got pad see ew and squid salad. Pad see ew was great: soft and chew noodles stir fried in a lip-smacking sweet and savory sauce with a good amount of wok hei. The squid salad was a flavor bomb, packed with sweetness, tanginess, and spiciness. I especially enjoyed how much lemongrass and herb were packed into the salad.
