This place looks a little rough but the food couldn’t be better! Delicious food and large servings well worth it.

Phenomenal, I ordered the bibimbap, it came out on a huge plater sizzling the ok on top perfectly cooked with gorgeous fresh vegetables surrounding (some pickled ones too). The rice on the bottom became crispy and delicious and a sauce in a squeeze bottle that was smoky and spicy and sweet.
My sone had the bulgogi, which also came out sizzling and delicious, one of the best I’ve ever had!

We have been here many many times. Service and food in the past 7 years has been hit or miss. Today my husband was lucky enough to get what he ordered, Jajangmyeon. There have been days where they have told him cannot have this item because it takes to long to make. Todays serving was a bit small on the noodles too. We had to ask for the yellow radish that is typically served with this dish and the waitress seemed put off by it.
We also asked for extra banchan and she told us she was gonna charge us for extra. Like seriously, this is the craziest thing I’ve ever heard in a Korean restaurant! Asked our waitress when they started charging and she said its always been the policy. Nope again 7 year patrons and this is the 1st time we have ever heard of this. I orderd the Samgyetang, again I didn’t get any ginseng like pictured. I have gotten a few pieces in the past so I’m not sure what is going on here as that is literally a very important part of this dish. I will say the the tempura shrimp here is always amazing.

From the moment my partner and I walked through the restaurant door, we were met with an unexpected level of hostility. The waitress, who also appeared to be the owner, offered no greeting, no smile, and no warmth. Instead, she simply pointed toward a corner table and instructed us to sit, without any acknowledgment or courtesy.

After we were seated, she brought only waters to our table and immediately walked away, leaving us waiting for quite some time. About 15 minutes into our wait, a large group entered. To our surprise, the same waitress greeted them warmly and quickly attended to them. She took their drink orders first and then returned shortly after to take their food order. Not once did she look in our direction, check on us, ask if we were ready to order, or offer anything beyond the initial water.

We continued waiting for at least 30 minutes without a single check-in or indication that we had been noticed. We tried to be patient and waited until she finished attending to the large group. Instead, she walked away afterward and began helping other customers, still without acknowledging us.

It was especially disappointing because we were genuinely excited to eat there. Unfortunately, the complete lack of hospitality left us feeling unwelcome. Feeling ignored and disrespected, my partner and I quietly got up and walked out. This was, without question, the worst dining experience we have ever had.

Walked in on a slow night just planning on getting take out and ended up staying and having a meal with friends. It’s a lovely place underground; the aquariums and mirrors give it a night club feel and the people are very nice. Foods fantastic! From presentation to taste!

Authentic korean restaurant serving nice food.
Owner was very accomodating to our large group.

Though the pricey cost with small portion of food was served, it is delicious and kind of worth it.(for me)

I was surprised with how well managed the service was, all done by 2 servers while serving the 20+ of us.

The restaurant looks retro and feels very korean-ish vibe like the 80’s.

Don’t let the appearance of this restaurant fool you! It may look run down and a bit scary, but the food is top-notch. I want to say that this is a great place to grab authentic Korean food in Fairbanks! I would definitely revisit Seoul Gate.

What an unassuming TREASURE TROVE of downright. good. food. Service was so quick, the food was Delicious, the atmosphere is charming with karaoke and fish. One of the sushi rolls was served en flambé! Would absolutely come back, and then go bowling next door.

Stopped in while visiting Fairbanks. Sushi came out quickly and the chefs seemed fine, but the service was cold and unwelcoming. We had been driving around looking for water and politely asked about filling our RV tank from their outdoor spigot. We understood it was an unusual ask and weren’t pushy, but the owner seemed visibly annoyed and remained curt throughout the meal.

She approached us three times about the receipt, acting impatient even though we had already paid. We also had to ask for water to drink, which tasted overly treated, and the avocado in my daughter’s roll was brown.

Overall, the vibe was uncomfortable, and it felt like they didn’t want to serve us. We wouldn’t return.

Really bad service. Waitress simply ignore your wave/call and just walk away for multiple times (for all tables). They would be taking a dish and ask all tables who have ordered it, such a mess. Worst thing is, they would be asking the tips amount instead of customers deciding this.

Food wise: Over-priced with low to medium Korean level.

Overall: One of the WORST restaurants I have ever went (across all cuisines) in US.
