My Young Beautiful Bride and I had visited the Beautiful town of Frankfort and of course we decided to find a place for breakfast.
Not being acquainted with the eating establishments in Frankfort, we decided to Google a breakfast suggestion.
Our search landed us at the “Downtown Diner” and WOW!
What a wonderful experience ❤️ we had.
For such a little Diner, it was packed with extremely friendly people, great food and wonderful waitresses.
This is just another reason for us to visit Frankfort again.

Fast & Pleasant service, food served hot. Old school Diner my favorite type. Hard to find fried cornmeal we enjoyed as a side. Spinach frittata, Hobo stack & good coffee. Good work team they work as on for sure & fair prices!

Local mom & pop small town breakfast joint with a packed parking lot at 8:30 am on a Wednesday morning. Moderate prices. Friendly hometown staff are exactly what you would expect –competent, nice and efficient. I love that the menu includes old school local small business ads. It’s everything I want when I’m traveling through a small town looking for an affordable meal. The pancake was exceptional. Next time I will skip the egg dish which had a weird taste I didn’t like and just have pancake and bacon. That pancake was fantastic!

Terrible service, table wasn’t clean waitress wasn’t much friendly and was to occupied with her phone and wrestling with people in the other booth. Hashbrowns where very salty you can tell they where cooked on a dirty grill with bacon and sausage and eggs next together.

I had heard that the biscuits and gravy were worth driving for. We thought we’d go for a Saturday morning adventure and check them out. The food did NOT disappoint! Our 3 year old ate an entire half order of biscuits and gravy by himself! My husband inhaled his Hobo Stack! And I gobbled up my biscuits and gravy! Definitely worth writing home about! We will 100% be back!

I was skeptical at first… Could such a small, old looking establishment actually serve up a real quality meal?
Well, I tried it… Not once, but 2, 3, 4, then 5, 6, 7, 8, and yes, nine times. And, you know what? This is now undoubtedly my absolute favorite dining establishment in downtown Frankfort, Indiana.
I’m somewhat leary of posting this as it’s a rather small diner and therefore provides somewhat limited seating. I don’t want to find myself not being able to get a seat following this post. I’m telling you that if this place had 100 tables, it would surely pack every table day in and day out up until their 2pm closing time.
Each and every menu item that I’ve experienced so far has been an incredible dining experience for me. I’ll bet that once you try it for yourself, you’ll quickly discover that the Downtown Diner does indeed serve up some of the tastiest home cooked meals that you’ve ever experienced. And, if you frequent it as I have been doing, you’ll find yourself recognizing many regulars there that have long ago discovered what I have. There’s no better cooking going on anywhere within Clinton County, Indiana. Nuff said!
