AWESOMEEE!! best fries I have ever had at any restaurant. Fresh, crispy, seasoned. The hamburger was delicious as well. Everyone here was super nice and attentive. Will definitely be coming back for future lunches!

Let me tell you about a food joint to avoid. Zebulon, NC is pretty much a food, shopping and event desert. The customer service or lack thereof that exists at McLean’s has taken over at its sister restaurant, Hillbillies. Why that name is probably offensive to real mountain folk who take care of each other no matter what.
Today I ordered a simple cheeseburger combo, all the way, mustard, chili, onions and slaw. The order taker (great description) looked at me and asked twice if I wanted slaw, to which I replied yes. We got our drinks and went to a table. They called the number and I picked up the food. As I bit into the cheeseburger, I immediately knew there was no slaw.
I went back up front to the counter girl who barely was able to utter “duh” and told her I ordered slaw and that there was none on my burger. She laid it down in sight in the back and just stood there with her mouth open. Someone took the burger out of sight and came back in a few minutes and said that she was putting slaw on my burger for free, but next time I needed to order it and she was not friendly with that.
Steamed, I went back to my seat, found the receipt which you can see in the photo and checked. The order and a $.29 charge said that I should have gotten slaw. When I took the ticket back up to the front, all I got was insolence and belligerence, no apology, no “can I do something to make it right” just a spewing of ignorance.
When did it become OK to let loose on the customer? You can’t make this kind of stupid up. So if you want little or no service and hold out for OK food, Hillbillies is your place. Just don’t expect much except lip since the collective brain power in Hillbillies wouldn’t run an ant’s go-cart three laps around a Coca-Cola cap.

The dine in service was fast. I had the Sausage Dog with onions and an order of fries. The dog was tasty and the fries were crispy and hot. Drinks were self serve. Nothing gourmet here, but what you would expect. Dining area and restroom (His) was clean and neat.

This is Zebulon’s little gem, super cute place. The food is not you would expect from a hamburger place. Real food, really good. Smacked right next to another fast food place and down the road from another this place can definitely hold it’s own! Great staff, having a good time at their jobs while actually doing them. Ice cream is excellent!

The food was very good. Though a bit pricey for hot dogs and fries. The wait staff was awesome! Our food was fast, fresh and hot. I’m glad I decided to stop here than Sonics. Hillbillies was far the better choice.!

Pretty good food but didn’t really live up to the hype we saw on reviews. Burgers aren’t quite as good as five guys. Hot dogs were average. Not much room inside to sit, especially if it’s busy and raining or too coldhot

I love this place. Always friendly staff, good hot dogs (with chili of course) burgers are pretty solid too. They have malt vinegar for their awesome fresh cut fries, which is a huge plus in my book. Fresh pork skins and ice cream, although I probably wouldn’t mix the two. Super sweet tea and Styrofoam cups round out the top qualities of a true southern burger spot. Highly recommended for tourists and locals, if Zebulon is your destination, or you’re just passing through, do yourself a favor and drop by.

Hillbillies has great fries, they are natural sliced potatoes and they cook them about 85% leaving them slightly soft, when salted they are awesome, tea is good quality. However their need got dogs are not great, I ordered a combo @$6.99, they did not tell me that beef cost more, well it did in @.19 more each, they also charged an additional
.25 each for slaw, now the little 2 got dog combo with fries and 16 ounce tea cost $8.52 including tax. For this price the beef got dogs should have been a better quality
( in fact I question if they were truly beef or in fact beef got dogs made of chicken and pork). I would go here just for the fries, in fact I have done so before. But never again will I order a beef hot dog, they were poor in taste and just too expensive. Next I will get a burger.

a very good burger, came with chili and slaw and was a different taste fro mthe normal burger. The fries were great and they had malt vinegar to change things up. Quick service and reasonable prices. Good stop on the way through town.

1st visit & was totally pleased
. Hot dogs were very good & love their chilly . The onion rings were delicious ! This place is very small & I can imagine it being packed during lunch times but they do have a drive thru . I plan to definitely be back to try some of the other things from the menu .
