I like the choice to eat in the bar or family rooms! It was a Sunday night, and although it was kind of busy it seemed like they had just ONE server handling both the bar AND the tables in the bar area, so service was a little slower than one might expect- maybe needed more staff? Waffle fries were kinda cold (were they sitting for a while?)
Food was good, although the burger patty was kind of thin and NOT cooked medium as requested.

We come here a few times a year and have always enjoyed it, but the last two times have been a disappointing experience. I enjoy their specialty cocktails, and I like to order one to have before dinner, and then one during dinner. The last two times it’s taken a very long time for the first one to arrive, in fact tonight we received our dinner and I had not even received my drink and had to ask the waitress to bring it again. She had completely forgotten about it. This has happened twice now. Unfortunately to get the couple of drinks and dinner experience, we may need to go elsewhere because lately the service here is just not cutting it.

Amazing decor and atmosphere! Really encourage you to look around at some of the historical decorations on the walls while you wait for your food, never had a bad experience with a server, never had a disliking to any of the food I’ve ordered, I actually look forward to trying multiple different things on the menu, I genuinely have a hard time deciding what to order! Always leave stuffed with leftovers in hand!

We went here for dinner on a not too busy Friday night. The food was good and the price was reasonable (for these days). However, the waitress could have shown more effort in timing things. As I said it wasn’t too busy, so our beers, salads, soup and entree all arrived in the span of six minutes. Not a very relaxing end to a busy week. Feeling rushed is an understatement.

I finally figured it out! After many times at this restaurant, I figured it out!
This is not a restaurant, it’s a bar. Don’t order food and don’t wait for service. Go straight to the bar, get your drink, and go sit down. This is the best way to enjoy this restaurant, I mean bar. Service is too slow to be a restaurant, the food is too bad to be a restaurant, and the waitresses only give you attention if they know you.
All jokes aside, this is hands-down the worst place to eat in Lynden. Live music is cool though.

we enjoyed the fish and chips. We decided to go with the apparent favorite and we were not disappointed. The fish was fresh, crispy and some of the generous portions we’ve seen anywhere. All in all it was the perfect choice to hook up with friends and enjoy dinner out. We will definitely return here and highly recommend this establishment that’s looking for a jewel in hiding

The food here is always top notch but the service today was out of this world, I watched our server create a beautiful ambiance and treat everyone with kindness and respect!!! She was fast and cheerful and we adored her she even wrote thank you on our recipe. These are the little things that make a restaurant epic!!!!

Great Customer Service from Amanda and Dillon!Great place, great staff, great food. Ordered Fish & Chips also fettuccine Alfredo and was not Disappointed. Front end people were very attentive and professional. Food was displayed nicely, tasted fresh and took less than 10 minutes to get to the table from the time I ordered!

Came here for a Father’s Day lunch around 1 pm. We didn’t realize they were closing at 1:30 pm; they said they could seat us right away but that there was likely a 50 min wait for food. This was the first sign something was off—competent restaurants at full capacity should have no problem churning food out of their kitchens at much quicker speeds. Perhaps they had call outs or something, so I can forgive that. Everything after we were seated, though, made me want to forgive Rustlers less and less.
First, service. The waitress seemed less than interested in serving us. Brief, disinterested, lacking enthusiasm. Felt like we were a burden to serve, rather than a joy (and nothing about our presence warranted such an apathetic vibe from her; truly, we were happy to be there and hopeful for a good lunch, content to wait the 50 min because my grandparents like the place).
Second, atmosphere. This is where Rustlers really shines, I think. It’s so cute and cozy. The western theme is awesome, and I love how each part of the restaurant feels like its own little room. Each space comes alive perfectly with tasteful, themed decor.
Third, food. This is on the same level as service. Super underwhelming, if not concerning. I ordered a chicken caesar salad, something so basic that to mess it up is, frankly, embarrassing. There was wilted lettuce, some even so far wilted as to be brown and on the verge of rotten, as well as pieces of Parmesan rind amidst the Parmesan shavings (anyone who knows how to handle parm knows that the rind isn’t for serving). Additionally, their timing on food was really off. Different dishes of our party came out minutes apart and several parts of dishes were cold (cold toast, cold fries). It’s just obvious the kitchen was super unorganized and lacking.
So there you have it. Really dissatisfied, would only go back if dragged there by someone who convinced me to give them another go. And honestly, I do think they’re likely much better than what we experienced. Sadly, all I experienced, however, was the experience of Rustlers feeling very, very rusty.
