Our guests were in awe of this cake, the design was perfect with attention to detail. I can’t get over how pretty it was.
The flavor was amazing and unique with chocolate custard.
We have gone through this bakery for the past 2 years for my daughter’s birthday. We will continue to do so, and will also keep recommending them to others ☺️
They were so prompt at reaching out to follow-up on my online inquiry, and even the revisions to the mock-ups of the cake.
The cake itself was so moist and flavorful and looked even better in person!
I called at 145pm the day prior and spoke with a young lady that confirmed my order and made a note regarding the cross .
On Sunday morning I drove 43 miles to Wayzata prior to the Baptism. When I echoed in with the young girl , she was frantic and I had a feeling it was going to be a disaster .
She told me that they did not have time to make my cake and her manager is offering me a substitution .
I thought this had to be some type of joke !!!
I ordered my stock cake 30 hours in advance and requested no substitutions per the website , It was simple but it was going to be elegant and perfect for a Baby’s Baptism with the light soft colors .
When she brought out the substitution
IT WAS A JOKE … a bright obnoxious rainbow cake with a Snowman !!!!
I had to laugh that they offered me this for a Baptism.
I asked for a full refund and for a manager to call me back .
I reached out again this past week to resolve this with a manger and it’s now been 7 days and they have not bothered to call me back .
I am so disappointed in the new owners ..
They have made a BAD name for the once incredible bakery that The Thirsty Whale was.
On a side note I left , drove 43 miles back and on my way I called Byerly’s and they saved the day with a BEAUTIFUL WHITE cake with a Gorgeous Rosette Cross along with her name
AND it was half the cost .
Funny , yesterday I was in Hyvee and saw a matching Rainbow Snowman cake in their case , and again it was half the price .
THE THIRSTY WHALE HAS GONE DOWNHILL
Ive seen this bakery many times but never stopped in so when I was ordering an online breakfast for delivery at the spur of the moment I decided to add some sweet treats – as you do!
The mango bomb donut was good but maybe a little too sweet and had a slight artificial sweetness about it! Hard for me to say that as I adore mangoes! It’s filled with some kind of mango jelly
The banana muffin is jumbo sized and good it would be better if they added chocolate chips!
