I came in for a caldo de res, Mariela took my order, cooks gave me a red colored caldo de res, is white on all pictures they have, when i tasted it, it tasted lake a waterdown pozole and Mariela told me that it was red caldo de res which oviously wasn’t, you can taste the pozole.
I tried looking for the managers number but i was unable to find., the fake caldo de res was $18.48. Totally scammed.

It’s sure a hit or miss spot. Never consistent that’s for sure. Unfortunately yesterday was a total miss! Cali Surfing fries was a total slop. Cold fries, no sour cream, no guacamole, no salsa. Barely some dry meat, shrimp without flavor, little cheese and lots of Chipotle sauce . Definitely not returning ever. I’m done trying. Who likes to take a chance on their food?

So far, Cotijas Taco shop in Bonita has been my favorite place for carne asada fries. The fries were fried perfectly crispy and not burnt and mushy, the meat was tasty with all the fixings. Delicious and props to the cook.

Salsa bar had a good selection of salsas. If you’re looking for carrots, it will cost. Although not a very large place, there’s was good amount of tables and chairs. Place was busy at the time and was clean.

I was disappointed with the quesabirria taco. Rather than the traditional shredded birria, the dish was prepared with large chunks of beef placed over melted cheese, which significantly affected both the texture and overall presentation. Unfortunately, the flavor and consistency did not meet expectations.

Food is good, prices are high but their service is hit or miss, and when it’s a miss it’s a total miss. I went into the store around 9:30pm there was absolutely nobody at the store, the cook noticed me walk in but didn’t greet or acknowledge me or my presence. Stood in front of the counter for a minute waiting, and he was just gossiping with a lady that I’m sure was the front cashier. After some time, still no acknowledgment or even saying “we’ll be right with you” I tried to be patient looking at the menu and waiting but nothing. I decided to walk out and give my business to Taco Fiesta instead. When I walked out I looked back to see if he would try and let the cashier know and try to come get me and apologize, but of course that didn’t happen. I will never bother to stop by again. The utter disrespect and lack of courtesy and customer service is mind boggling.

I ordered the enchiladas chicken and I noticed a slight stinky smell from the enchiladas and brushed it off as if I was being to picky.
I only ate half of the serving and after getting home I started feeling ill to my stomach and belched a putrid smell that lasted to the early hours of the next day.

In my opinion the food is not always fresh so beware.

This place has very good potions, the did is good, the service is great and the person that is at the counter she is always very helpful and nice. The cooks are very good and the food is always in point! We eat here maybe once or twice a month. If you’re very hungry be sure to ask for their awesome double tortilla carne asada, fries burrito it will fit sure take your higher away!
