0 out of 10, would NOT recommend. This is a public establishment and they have a sign stating service dogs must to pre-approved. That is against ADA law. I saw the owner in a review claim they are a private club. There is no sign stating they are private nor do they have someone at the door checking membership. This place is open to the public, therefore they cannot deny access. What is legal is to be kicked if the service dog is causing problems, using the bathroom on the floor, stealing food, attacking people, jumping on the counter, etc. I walked in with my service dog…there was food all over the ground, the bartender was on the client side of the bar chatting with a friend, we were not asked about our membership (per the claim in a review response I just saw) and a very simple drink (mojito) could not be made. We left as the environment was not exactly inviting and we could not get a very simple drink. I would not suggest this place to anyone. I stand behind not allowing pets. To have a sign stating you need pre-approval for a service dog is insanely inappropriate and shows little knowledge of ADA laws. If you want to be a private establishment, great, your right…be one and limit entrance to ALL public (not just people with service dogs) and require people to show proof of membership. And make sure you clean up the broken bottles in the grass right outside your pub. The glass and bottles are only near this establishment, not the rest of the parking lot.

Really nice local bar vibe. Friendly atmosphere comfortable surroundings. They no longer serve food but you can get food from the Italian place next door and you are welcome to bring it there to eat with your drinks.

Everything was overall great except for what I know now was one of their regulars. He was a little more drunk than they usually see him but I guess that led to the events of this dude Bj hitting on my girlfriend and very blantly telling her pretty much anything he could think of to try to get her to leave with him. I’m not a immature person by any means but after I spoke to him and tried to explain that he was really making my girlfriend uncomfortable to the point she wanted to tell management. I calmed her down bcs we didn’t want to make a scene or any problems but at the same time it was kinda hard not to see the whole thing go down. I wish this Bj fella would’ve handled his alcohol better and I wish management would have been paying more attention in case I wouldn’t have been there.

This was the first bar I tried when we moved across the river. They served amazing food back then, but sadly, since covid, they no longer do. Dont let that deter you, though. It’s still, by far, turned into our favorite place to gather, grab a pint, and socialize in SPT. Friendly clientel, amazing staff, great whisk(e)y / bourbon selection, cold beer, and daily drink specials. Grab a bag of hot popcorn and belly up to the bar. Very veteran friendly too.

Cool place with a proper selection of beers. None of that IPA Sour Fruity stuff. This place has lagers, browns, reds, and stouts that leaves you feeling happy

Saw my buddy’s band, The Blarney Brogues. They were great and so was the service! No food but drinks were great.

Very cool spot in Southport, a true pub with a great selection of whiskey (try the Leadslingers, a veteran made whiskey) and good food to boot. Attentive bartenders and fun events definitely make it a bar to frequent. There’s also plenty of parking and seating. Support local businesses!
