Went to Celaya Restaurant on Saturday evening for the first time. It’s a nice, quiet, clean little restaurant. The food was hot and fresh! For my own tastes, it could have been more spicy but if you like your Tex-mex on the low end of the heat scale this place is for you. The chips were served hot which I really enjoy. If I was to pick at anything, I wish the flour tortillas with my dinner had been thinner, but their flavor was delicious! We had the beef guisada and the chicken enchiladas with the pablano sauce.

Went for a quick bite for late breakfast.
Had a very tasty BIG breakfast taco! Great value for money, and not greasy at all, which I find with chorizo sometimes.
Server was pleasant.
A bit of a bland atmosphere, very quiet and a very touch musty but it’s clean and lots of space and I was comfortable.
A nice spot for good simple Mexican food and very good prices!

Celaya’s is known for their authentic Mexican cuisine; the mouth watering Fajitas, the homemade Flour tortillas and Ritas! If that’s not up your alley , the Barbacoa and Menudo on the weekends or the homemade Flan and Chile Rellenos are to die for , We love Celaya’s!

We decided to stop by as it says Mexican but in reality it is Tex Mex, food is not very tasty, lots of cheddar cheese, charro beans have a sweet taste as it has lots of tomato. Portion size is rather medium and prices are on higher side compared to portion. Salsas are missing flavor and have no heat at all.

I have been living in Pearland a year and in my mail box I got a best coupon add for happy hour margaritas and I told my husband we should stop by and grab a few drinks and eat. I’m very impressed and happy with the fajita meat and drinks were so good I got more than one.Highly recommend this place and you won’t be disappointed

If you want a Mexican breakfast in Pearland, especially during the week, go try Celaya. I was pleasantly surprised, I had seen it many times over the years but never thought to stop. The prices are incredible for this day and age. The food was fresh and tasty. It was a nice, clean, and quiet environment, a great place to relax and start the day off before all the hustle and bustle of life. The service was great. A barbacoa taco for $2.75… wow. We ordered the migas plate, huevos rancheros plate with sausage instead of bacon and 2 barbacoa tacos. Tortillas are homemade. I even put some of my barbacoa on my migas and still had enough for my taco. Support a local business and try this place, I’m going to try dinner there soon.

I noticed on my receipt I was charged for sour crème chicken enchiladas when I ordered cheese enchiladas with the sour crème sauce. Cheese enchiladas are $8.99 and sour crème chicken enchiladas are $9.99. When I asked she said she had to charge me extra. I pointed out twice that cheese is cheaper than chicken and I ordered cheese enchiladas not chicken. She just said “sorry”.

After 18 years I finally stopped in to see what I have been missing. Customer service was top notch from the start so things are already going good for 8am.
My son is not a huge breakfast fan so he asked his normal question, “ Is the whole menu available?”
Yes it is, the day is getting better by the minute. Drink order taken and chips and salsa on the way, I am seriously starving at this point so I can’t wait, The chips are warm and crispy and the salsa is served in a bowl twice the size of most places. The first chip hit the salsa at hyper speed and a moment of bliss ensued. The sauce according to my son is the best he has eaten. It was smooth and warm with plenty of flavor. It is a very mild salsa that any palate can handle. The first bowl was gone in record time with a second on the way. The day at this moment is perfect. Now on to our entrees.

Entrees :
Super Burrito. 8/10
A 12-inch flour tortilla stuffed with 5 oz. of grilled steak fajita, rice, beans, sour cream, lettuce, pico de gallo and guacamole.
This is a phenomenal burrito. It is big so you better be hungry. The fajita meat was really tender with an excellent crust. The ingredients are your typical fare in a burrito but the meat gives this one an edge.

Pollo Ranchero. – 5/10
Grilled chicken topped with ranchero sauce. Served with rice, beans, pico de gallo and guacamole
Let’s start with the most important critique, the ranchero sauce needs some serious work. It’s not really a sauce, it wants to be but just doesn’t get there. It needs more seasoning as well. The chicken was tender but suffered from a lack of seasoning as well. The guacamole, rice, and beans were all really good, which helped save the dish. It wasn’t horrible because I left a clean plate, it just needs a revamp.

I have seen the good and the bad reviews of Celaya’s and I can honestly say that the good outweighs the bad easily. Everyone has different tastes, so the sauce that I love might not be the sauce you love. At the same time that alone doesn’t make it bad, just different.

The great customer service and salsa makes it a must try if you haven’t.

Just don’t forget to bring any concerns to the management, problems can’t be fixed if they don’t know about them.

Happy Eating!!!

Drive past the spot often, I always see people walking in, my mother and brother came to visit so we decided to go for early dinner.
Now I know not to go back the staff was very polite but the food was not flavorful at all.
The ground beef tasted like regular cooked ground beef with no seasoning at all..
Also the menu and salt shaker was filthy…. Smh

Wife and I having been going to Celaya Mexican for about 10 years now off and on. Great little hidden Gem in Pearland…Quiet Family type place…Great Service, Food Portions, Margaritas and Chips/Salsa are always great!..ask for the Spicy Salsa if want a little more kick!
Prices have risen over the years but still way better than the Large Name Brand
Restaurants, which are just way over priced now!
