It’s not THE best sushi in the *whole world*. (That’s Sushi Nozowa in LA… You know, where it’s closer to the actual ocean.) But for being in land-locked Eagle, ID, it is as good as it generally gets, which is a huge compliment and more than I can say for most of the food around here of any kind. But this is also Sushi, a delicate specialty food that should really not even exist in this small town of chain restaurants. Specifically, I ate what might be the actual best softshell crab app I have had in decades. Maybe ever. Not sure why this dish is always usually overcooked wherever I go, but Ahi did it just right and it was massive and tasted like the beach so much I teared up. I actually can’t stop thinking about it now. Can’t afford to eat there every night but I’ll be dropping in for a quick crab app and some sake regularly (nice selection). Oh, we also had the bluefin toro (belly) and my son fell out of his chair. He was being dramatic but it was actually that good. Also the staff there is just always the best ever. I have tried to poach a few of them but they seem to really like it there, which is a good sign.

Only downside is it’s usually a bit too cold in there for me.

My friend and I had lunch here yesterday, a Tuesday, about noon. Located on W State closer to Edgewood, in a little strip of businesses in the back next to a school. The place was not busy. We were greeted by a young man and a woman with dark hair that turned out to be our server. Both were very nice, but our server was especially friendly and attentive. We both had rolls, mine being a Rainbow, and cups of miso soup. Everything was good. I did not know about this restaurant but I’ll certainly be back.

Spicy edamame to start our meal. Rolls from left to right: winding creek, volcano, skipper. All these rolls were soooo good. We ordered another winding creek and had some red bean mochi to top off the meal. This place great background music adding to the atmosphere that is not too loud for conversation. We took our new born (17 day old) and everything went well. Delicious food, great service. Probably in top 3 for sushi places in treasure valley, definitely in top 5!!!

Overall the sushi was good. Didn’t have a huge amount of options and every roll was similar. Edamame and bento box were great! I don’t think they had kid options but could be wrong. They are expensive so not sure if it is worth the price knowing other places around town are a smidge better.

I have not been in this establisment for a while, but one thing I notice, the quality has not changed. I can only find the ‘authentic’ agedashi tofu in here. No where else in the valley they put the bonito shavings on the dish. Besides the bonito shavings, the consistency of the fried tofu was perfection. It was a bite size cut (not too large) with the perfect crunchiness. The broth is just the perfect icing on top. It is not salty, so when you ‘fish’ for that bonito shaving in the sauce, my mouth is doing a super happy dance .

The sushi selection is not extensive, but I tell you what… the quality of the product is UNBELIEVABLE. The rice was so tender. The roll is not large in diameter, so it is really a bite size roll, just perfect! The eel was so tender and seasoned perfectly. That was a superb Caterpillar roll .

The catepillar roll was so good, I’ve decided to try the eel handroll. I almost dipped it to the soy sauce, good thing I didn’t make that mistake (though I’m happy they provide the less sodium kind). That handroll is magnificent. That was the BEST eel I’ve ever had. Now I am happy .

Oh my waitress was super nice too .

Oh my! Excellent quality! Great value and a lovely array of choices. We had just gotten back from awesome food in Wakiki, and it was a taste of our time there. The poke martini is amazing! Fresh and a good portion!

Great sushi joint with unique and fresh offerings. Service was quick and friendly and the prices were decent. We shared the spicy ademame (which wasn’t really that spicy but still good), the crunch roll and the A bomb. All very good and flavorful. They also had a great selection of saki to choose from. All in all a great dinner spot.
