Plenty of good beer options here, the food is ok but nothing special. Will probably opt for another spot before coming back here

My wife and I had a good time here. We ordered the soft pretzels with beer cheese, and they were pretty good! The bartender was really hustling—mixing drinks and running food without missing a beat. There’s plenty of seating both inside and out, so it’s easy to find a spot. Overall, a great place to grab a drink and enjoy some decent food.

Great little place if you have a furry friend and also need that lovely afternoon brew and a good bite to eat! We were coming from a long morning of hiking to Triple Falls and High Falls, on our way to finish the day at the Biltmore Estate. This was the perfect place to pop in! Chicken sandwich was amazing and the beer was so refreshing.

We stopped and grabbed lunch here after getting into town. The food was just….eh.
Bad bar food would be how I would describe it.
Their onion rings are thinly sliced onions that came out, cold and essentially evaporated in your mouth.
The house salad looks like something that would be served at a hospital cafeteria.
They do have a small selection of local breweries on their tap list, and that is nice to be able to sample some different beers from around town. Their house triple is very good.
I would not skip it, but avoid the food.

Living fairly nearby we get to Thirsty Monk South maybe a couple times a month and love it here. Cozy pub vibe, elevated bar food, great taplist and liquor selection to boot. The Nashville Hot Trout sandwich (with locally sourced trout) is one of my favorite sandwiches in town, consistently delicious with just the right amount of heat. Their specials are always nice changes from the standard menu fare as well.
Atmosphere as mentioned feels like the type of cozy pub you might find in Europe, with ample dog-friendly outdoor seating when weather permits. But the key factor that sends Thirsty Monk South into 5 star territory is their staff & owners, who are consistently among the friendliest, most welcoming folks in town. (Also someone here has really good musical taste!)

The Thirsty Monk is a great local watering hole that has a wide variety of beers on tap that range from your classic German biers with a twist to Hazy IPAs that AVL loves. The food always loosk great here but I have yet to try, the pretzel is gonna be first on the list though. Activities like trivia or board games are always available and the outside seating area is wonderful 3 seasons out of the year!

We stopped in for a quick beer as we were gallivanting around. Loved the atmosphere. The beer selection was fantastic. With the name like “Thirsty Monk”, I had to try the “Tricky Tripel”. It absolutely did not disappoint. I would recommend stopping in. The beers are great and the vibes are true. I can’t wait to go back.

The most underwhelming fish and chips for $22. Disappointing to leave hungry when you overpay. Two very small pieces of finish with tiny sides

What a fun and exciting place. For starters the folks that work there are so nice, informative, and polite. Customer service is key and they nailed it.
The beer..I tried two different ones and they were delicious. Not overpowering and not under powering they were just right. The atmosphere inside the location is a lot of fun with ample seating. They also have benches outside. I met a few nice locals and everyone was so nice. Definitely looking forward to going back sometime.
They do have food of which I didn’t try.
There is plenty of parking either on the road or in the parking garage.
Lastly, they also serve liquor. Go give them a try I can assure you it is worth the visit.

Great and relaxing environment! The tacos are excellent, the quality of food is much better than most breweries and at an affordable price. The staff is always friendly and welcoming every time we are in the brewery. Wednesday pint night is a usual stop for us and they have some of the best ciders I have ever had. I would definitely recommend Thirsty Monk if you are around Biltmore Park.
