First Bite Review: Arlington’s Tiger Dumplings Is Packing Them In
Reviews
The food unfortunately wasn’t very tasty for me. It wasn’t terrible, just didn’t stand out or have the flavor I was expecting.
There is parking available in front of the restaurant, but spaces are limited, which could be inconvenient during busier hours.
Overall, an okay experience, but not somewhere I’d rush back to.
The location was very cute. Not too busy at 5:15.
We ordered a Lychee Refresher, an order of the scallion pancake, and the Spicy Pork Soup Dumplings.
Everything was really good. The staff were attentive but also a smidge impatient. It was most likely our fault though.
I was waiting for him and they came up to me 2x asking if I was ready to order or if I was waiting for someone.
Then when the friend arrived, we were catching up and they kept coming over asking if we were ready.
However, the visit was overall a pleasant experience. I may have to go back and try their brunch!
I love family style eating, and there are great options for that. For 4 of us, we ordered the Set B tasting menu and added about 5 additional dishes.
My favorite was the garlic fish and lemon prawn! The spicy items were really not that spicy, which was great for me because I’m a baby lol. Overall the menu has a great variety and all of the food was good!
Service was pretty good, the only complaint is that the menu included Peach ice cream and we were given chocolate, which we wouldn’t have opted for. We were a little confused and would have appreciated more upfront communication but after asking about it, it was cleared up although it was too late to change anything.
I would recommend and return and would love to try some other things on the menu!
Pretty interior, elegant and inviting.
We did the All You Can Eat brunch since it was our first time and we wanted to sample different dishes (though limitless or AYCE is rarely ever worth it for us). It’s also good to note that some of the dishes that were recommended to me by a friend weren’t on the AYCE but was on the a la carte (like the soup dumplings, black truffle/wagyu, and some corn dumpling thing).
So you can basically order 7 things at a time, and then they will bring it out and then server will check in. This method had me a bit anxious because sometimes the food didn’t come out til later and we were still working on it- and so when my server checked in- we weren’t quite ready to order the next batch, but then we would have to track her down when we were ready. So, the 90 min limit went fairly fast. Sometimes, our food never came- so had to let the waitress know we were still waiting on some items (happened 3x).
Food wasn’t bad but I didn’t leave thinking that it was amazing. Some tastier than others- I think our favorites were the spicy wontons, lemon prawns, chicken and mushroom, braised beef and tomato, and cucumbers (lol).
I’d come back to try out the a la carte menu, and some of the items my friend recommended. 3.5/5 this visit, maybe the items on the a la carte might better suit me?
Tiger Dumplings is a gem in Clarendon for anyone who loves Chinese dumplings.
The decor is modern & stylish with just the right touch of traditional flair—perfect for a relaxed yet refined dining experience.
The standout feature is their unlimited small portions of various dumpling-style dishes, each one bursting with flavor and clearly made with care. Whether steamed, pan-fried, or soup-filled, every bite is satisfying and fun to explore.
The staff are warm, attentive, and happy to explain the rotating selections.
A must-visit spot for dumpling lovers or anyone wanting to try something new in a welcoming setting.
Only minor feedback is that the peanuts with tofu skin dish could use a little more tofu skin to balance the flavors.
