Great spot to grab a beer and feel apart of the Medina community. The bartenders are super friendly! They also make incredible cocktails. One of my favorite spots to hang out for girls night too!

If you are not a Medina local (or even if you are and have never been to Common Grounds before), you wouldl never know about this bar/venue tucked in the back of a converted post-agrarian / post-industrial building. And I mean WAY in the back where the guy you ask directions from says something like “turn in by the Airsoft sign, then go past the first two building, then go down down the long 1-lane driveway to the back parking lot. Go around the the skid steer and at the end of the parking lot turn left next to the graffiti sign for Picklback. The enterance is at the end of the side parking lot.”
OK, so now you found the place. There is a huge horshoe style bar front and center, with hogh tops and a mix of tables and boothes skirting the periphery. In addition to garden variety cocktiails, they feature a menu of specials some of which include pickles (thus the name). I visited for New Years Eve, which featured live music from Blue Cadilac, who, once they picked up the tempo around midnight, had folks up and dancing. The food comes from Common Grounds available-for-hire commercial kitchen, and for New Years Eve featured a range of smashburger inspired options including a “smash taco”. The menu may rotate according to the food vendor, but that’s part of the charm. The main downside – I could not find a phone listing for them to confirm what time the band was starting. As of December 31, the large patio area was coverred with snow, but it’s not difficult to imaging it during dummer filled with party-goer’s or folks out for some live music. I hope more people will discover this venue, as they do need more patrons from outside of Medina to be able to realize their vision. That might require a phone number to call when you miss the driveway and get lost, but possibly those annoying calls are the reason they don’t have one.

Was looking for it for quite a while..no signage out front that I could see. Apparently it is INSIDE of the Common Ground place? It looks like they are trying to make a yuppie mall with crafts and stuff. Not bad. But the Pickle backs bar part had only 2 bartenders and they seemed new. Very slow service and you had to wait at a part of the bar to order. Strange. Maybe it’s new and they are working out the kinks still. Will try back in a while. Could be a cool place. But PLEASE guys, get some signage out in front so people can find it!!!!

Atmosphere is incredible, service is impeccable, and the cocktails? You’ll be picking your jaw off the floor after your first sip!! Favorite cocktails are “Not your average jam jar” and the house favorite: The Pickle Margarita! Seriously cannot hype this place up enough! If you haven’t yet, GET IN THERE ASAP! Even if you aren’t a drinker, their NA Options will blow your mind! By far the best place to grab a cocktail in Medina.

Amazing place, amazing bartenders, amazing service, amazing drinks, amazing atmosphere. I can’t say anything negative about this place. I recommend it to everyone. Drinks are perfectly crafted and reasonably priced, but unique which is amazing.

First time going there with my wife. 30 minutes before we were attended to. Discrepancy withe beer prices. $6 for a draft and $4 for a bottle. Seems backwards from what I’m used to dealing with. Ordered the Dill Macaroni Salad. It arrived and asked if they had mistaken my order. It was what is usually a small order in other establishments. However here, it is a large. Was suitable for a child. Training for staff needs improved, while overall friendly, they had the deer in the headlights feel. Definitely overwhelmed and not prepared for a Friday night. Will not be back. On a bright note, outdoor patio was nice. Uncomfortable seating however.

Great selection of delicious cocktails. Love the decor. Plenty of room to sit at the bar. Ample large tables. Nice patio with games. How to access the Outside entrance needs to be marked better.
