The service was quick and ambience was okay.
The only thing I noticed is the aloo-gobi tasted fresh while eating in the restaurant but when I took a plate of aloo-gobi to-go, by dinner time same day, it was already starting to smell stale.
Overall, our experience with India house was good, we had some comforting Indian food after days of travel.
Terrible food, terrible service, terrible experience.
rude staff, and overpriced meals with no taste. Absolutely not worth it
I got the food as take out and it was hot. I just wish the food had a little bit more flavor with the traditional Indian spices.
Definitely would come back if I miss a bit of that home cooked meal. Also appreciate that we were able to call in and place the order to pick up rather than doing it over an app or website.
Its a homestyle taste.
Owner is very polite and punjabi and being only Indian restaurant in puerto rico hats off to taste.
We ordered chicken curry saag paneer
Must try
We ordered just one naan, but the server brought two. We didn’t notice at first. A few minutes later, the owner came out, picked up one of the naans from our table without any explanation, and walked away with it. When I asked what was happening, he simply said, ‘This one isn’t yours.’
I’ve never experienced such petty and cheap behavior at a restaurant. Very off-putting
The owner along with an elderly family member and 2 other staff members tried managing 50 hungry customers waiting to be fed. He did a phenomenal job managing customers.
Food quantities were medium portions and flavored. Menu was limited during the time I went .. probably to meet customers demand they shortened the menu. Did not like Mango Lassi at all.
The dal tadka was nothing more than a bland, ground paste of lentils with absolutely no tadka or flavor. The gobhi aloo was swimming in oil, unevenly cooked, and portions of it were actually raw—again, completely tasteless.
The naan was the biggest disappointment. It was clearly store-bought pita bread, lightly heated and served as naan. Calling this naan is misleading and frankly unacceptable.
To make matters worse, the pricing is outrageously high—$18 each for a small bowl of dal tadka and gobhi aloo.
Overall, a complete waste of time and money. I would strongly recommend saving both and choosing somewhere else— even fast-food options like Taco Bell or Subway would be a better experience.
This was, without question, the worst restaurant experience we have ever had, and I am writing this so other families do not suffer the way we did.
We placed our order nearly two hours in advance, trusting this restaurant to provide a basic family dinner. After an exhausting wait, the food arrived—but only the curries and dal. There was no naan, no roti, nothing to actually eat the food with. When we asked, we were told the bread was “not available.” We were then asked to wait longer for fresh roti, only to be told 30 minutes later that roti was also unavailable either.
By this point, we had waited close to two hours and were left with curries and half-cooked rice. While we stood there waiting, we watched staff hand food to other customers out of order, completely ignoring us. It felt dismissive, careless, and deeply disrespectful.
When we explained that they should have told us earlier so we could have gone somewhere else, the response was a shocking, “I didn’t know myself.” That one sentence perfectly sums up the chaos and total lack of management at this place.
The food quality itself was extremely poor, but the real damage was what happened next: our children went to bed hungry. Because of the endless delays and false promises, by the time we realized nothing else was coming, every other restaurant was closed. As a parent, that is devastating and unforgivable.
There were many more upsetting moments during this interaction that I won’t even detail here. But please understand this clearly: there is no reliability, no accountability, and no care for customers at this restaurant. There is no guarantee you will receive what you order—and even if you do, the quality is not acceptable.
This experience left us helpless, and heartbroken. I strongly urge families to stay away from this restaurant.
