The atmosphere was fantastic, the people were incredibly friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. Hard to believe in a town that at first glance seemed a bit quiet, but the restaurant was bustling with guests. My wife, our child, and I were all thoroughly satisfied – we haven’t experienced anything quite like it anywhere else.
We will definitely make a stop here again on our next trip. As a German, my child did miss having the typical apple juice mixed with sparkling water (like we often have back home), but we came here for an authentic American dining experience – and that’s exactly what we got!
I had the pork chop. The portion was a little smaller than I thought it would be and it was thinner than I expected but one of the most tender chops I have ever had. Not mushy but butter soft and super flavorful. Crispy fried okra and amazing zucchini. They were from a smaller zucchini with thin slices that had been quartered. So they cooked quickly and some pieces were almost caramelized and others almost slightly crisp which made for a fantastic texture. I don’t know what they were seasoned with but it was almost like a chili crisp? I ate the whole plate, it was amazing.
My wife had the chicken sandwich and fries. Fries were well seasoned, a little limp. The chicken was a little underseasoned for my taste, but the sandwich had a dressing, good bacon and a beautiful slice of tomato.
Fantastic stop. Waiter got slammed as a birthday party of 18 or so came in along with 3 other tables, so gave him a lot of grace, just took a bit to get our check and didn’t get to try a dessert.
Would absolutely stop again.
I had the “Cow Patty” (loaded baked potatoe w/sirloin tips), and my husband had the chicken fried chicken. Both were very delicious! The sirloin tips were cooked to perfection.
The atmosphere was great and loved the rustic decor throughout the restaurant/bar.
