⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Cozy Morning at Catawba Coffee Co.

My wife and I stopped into Catawba Coffee first thing this morning, right when they opened. If you know this place, you know why — it fills up fast. There’s something about walking in early, when the lights are dim, the air still smells like fresh grounds, and the whole shop feels like it’s waking up with you.

The wife ordered an everything bagel (plain) and a small Mayan Mocha with oat milk. I went for the medium Milky Way with coconut milk and a raspberry scone. Everything tasted great, and the drinks were made with care — you can tell they take pride in what they serve.

What I love about this spot is the atmosphere. It’s small, but in that intentional, cozy way. Local art on the walls, soft music, and sometimes they even have live musicians come in and play. You can sit by the window and watch the trains roll by — the tracks are literally right out front, so you do have to be careful crossing, but it adds to the charm of this old-fashioned little town.

And that’s the thing: Catawba Coffee is right within walking distance of Main Street, where Mount Holly really shows off. Concerts on the street, little shops, places to eat, a brewery, JackBeagle’s, salons, churches — the whole “small town with a heartbeat” vibe. You can grab your coffee here and wander right into the rest of the day.

Now, to be honest, our total came to $22.15 for one small coffee, one medium coffee, a bagel, and a scone. It’s definitely on the pricier side. I still gave them five stars because the experience, the atmosphere, and the location make it a special place — but I do think people should know what to expect price-wise.

All in all, it’s a beautiful little spot with a lot of character, and we enjoyed starting our morning there.

Stopped by on Christmas Eve sorta last minute and they had just closed. As our family stood in the parking lot to see what we wanted to go try the owners walked up and asked if we were coming to the shop. Opened I and made our orders. Super great people. Super great coffee and a great place to unwind!!! Merry Christmas!! And thank you

So I came across this cool place because I was in the area and wanted a coffee. The vibe is the most friendly coffee house I’ve ever been to, right down to the other patrons. I didn’t know exactly what I wanted so Lake (super nice guy) heard my thoughts and created a great sugar free coffee for me that was the best I’ve ever had…and I’ve been to a lot of coffee houses all over due to my travels. Keep up the awesome work y’all !!

Cute little coffee shop with lots of seating and delicious treats!

I got my usual latte- which was very well made and delicious!

The PB chocolate frappe caught my eye as did the delicious looking muffins which I’ll have to try next time.

I love the decor and vibes of this place.

You can sit outside or in one of the two rooms they have inside.
It would be a great place to get some work or some reading done.

I’ll definitely be back and recommend that you try it out!

Kind of hidden, and definitely a gem! You may not notice it from the street at first, but don’t miss it. I got an iced thin mint latte with white chocolate, instead of regular chocolate. The barista was very friendly and the inside was very cute. I believe they had some local artwork on display, which is always great to see! Definitely recommend!

So close to 5-stars you can taste it (4.8).

Great customer service with knowledgeable staff. The Barista knew her stuff. The Owners put quality and service ahead of all. Food here is great, pastries and sandwiches. It looks like a converted garage studio, turned into a pretty café. With outdoor seating as well as indoors, you can enjoy your treat and then go back for more.

Thin Mint Coffee (LG): Great flavors, although could have used a little more mint.

Almond Croissant: I elected to have mine heated up. This was great, flakey, and tasty. It has enough room on the inside for meat and cheese (I’ll have to ask if they do that).

Overall, a great experience, but it can get busy. I came in when there were three people eating. Now the place is packed. Doesn’t look like it affected their ability to serve though. Very efficient.

They have “Band Nights” too! Come visit and give this place some love. ❤️

Found this spot on Google Maps and wanted to give it a try. Baristas were super kind and helpful in helping to decide what drink to get. Ended up going with a simple cortado and a sausage egg and cheese sandwich, and it was very solid. Good space to do work, very community driven, and good selection of breakfast sandwhiches and pastries

Coffee shop is super cute and I’ve enjoyed the breakfast items i’ve had when occasionally popping in but the coffee itself is very hit or miss based on which barista(s) is behind the bar. Went in the other day for an iced chai tea latte with oat milk and a shot of espresso and was literally given a chai tea (not latte) that had been poured over ice with oat milk added..? Tasted like straight water with milk and was practically see through. 🙁

Ordered hot chocolate here before the annual Mount Holly lantern parade, it was very good. The place is located near the main street of Mount Holly, so there are many walkable interesting places around this coffee shop. The place is quite small and it may be not too comfortable to sit around for long, but the drinks are excellent. The staff is very friendly and they serve your drinks with happiness- unlike many others who just serve you robotically.

Parking is nearby and there are lots of spaces to park. They have a restroom for the customers.
